Eu sou a luz do mundo.

Reflexão

Na festa das Tendas, era costume acender vários candelabros nos pátios do templo. Ora, Jesus se apresenta como a “luz do mundo”. A luz é símbolo da vida. No prólogo de João, luz e vida se identificam e se aplicam à pessoa de Jesus: “No princípio existia a Palavra… nela havia vida e a vida era a luz dos seres humanos” (Jo 1,1.4). A luz se impõe por si mesma, não precisa ser demonstrada, mas a pessoa pode fechar os olhos à luz. Foi o que aconteceu com os dirigentes incrédulos, diante dos quais Jesus reafirmou sua origem: ele vem do Pai. Deveriam acreditar em Jesus, pois o Pai dá testemunho em favor dele, e o “testemunho de duas pessoas é válido”. Eles, porém, se recusaram a ver e conhecer a luz (Jesus). Seguir a Jesus é caminhar atrás dele, ou seja, é aderir totalmente à sua pessoa.

Reflection 

At the Feast of the Tents, it was customary to light several candelabra in the temple yards. Now, Jesus presents himself as the "light of the world." Light is A symbol of life. In the prologue of John, light and life identify and apply to the person of Jesus: "In The beginning there was the Word... There was life and life was the light of human beings "(Jn 1, 1.4). The Light imposes itself on itself, does not need to be demonstrated, but the person can close his eyes to the light. This Is what happened to the unbeliever leaders, before which Jesus reaffirmed his Origin: he comes from the Father. They Should believe in Jesus, for the Father testifies in his favor, and the "Testimony of two people is valid." But They refused to see and know the Light (Jesus). Following Jesus is walking behind him, that is, it is totally adhering to his person.

Estou condenada a morrer, quando nada fiz do que estes maldosamente inventaram a meu respeito!” 44O Senhor escutou sua voz. 45Enquanto a levavam para a execução, Deus excitou o santo espírito de um adolescente de nome Daniel. 46E ele clamou em alta voz: “Sou inocente do sangue dessa mulher!” 47Todo o povo, então, voltou-se para ele e perguntou: “Que palavra é essa que acabas de dizer?” 48De pé, no meio deles, Daniel respondeu: “Sois tão insensatos, filhos de Israel? Sem julgamento e sem conhecimento da causa verdadeira, vós condenais uma filha de Israel? 49Voltai a repetir o julgamento, pois é falso o testemunho que levantaram contra ela!” 50Todo o povo voltou apressadamente, e outros anciãos disseram ao jovem: “Senta-te no meio de nós e dá-nos o teu parecer, pois Deus te deu a honra da velhice”. 51Falou então Daniel: “Mantende os dois separados, longe um do outro, e eu os julgarei”. 52Tendo sido separados, Daniel chamou um deles e lhe disse: “Velho encarquilhado no mal! Agora aparecem os pecados que estavas habituado a praticar. 53Fazias julgamentos injustos, condenando inocentes e absolvendo culpados, quando o Senhor ordena: ‘Tu não farás morrer o inocente e o justo!’ 54Pois bem, se é que viste, dize-me à sombra de que árvore os viste abraçados?” Ele respondeu: “À sombra de uma aroeira”. 55Daniel replicou: “Mentiste com perfeição contra a tua própria cabeça. Por isso o anjo de Deus, tendo recebido já a sentença divina, vai rachar-te pelo meio!” 56Mandando sair este, ordenou que trouxessem o outro: “Raça de Canaã e não de Judá, a beleza fascinou-te e a paixão perverteu o teu coração. 57Era assim que procedíeis com as filhas de Israel, e elas, por medo, sujeitavam-se a vós. Mas uma filha de Judá não se submeteu a essa iniquidade. 58Agora, pois, dize-me debaixo de que árvore os surpreendeste juntos?” Ele respondeu: “Debaixo de uma azinheira”. 59Daniel retrucou: “Também tu mentiste com perfeição contra a tua própria cabeça. Por isso o anjo de Deus já está à espera, com a espada na mão, para cortar-te ao meio e para te exterminar!” 60Toda a assistência pôs-se a gritar com força, bendizendo a Deus, que salva os que nele esperam. 61E voltaram-se contra os dois velhos, pois Daniel os tinha convencido, por suas próprias palavras, de que eram falsas testemunhas. E, agindo segundo a lei de Moisés, fizeram com eles aquilo que haviam tramado perversamente contra o próximo. 62E assim os mataram, enquanto, naquele dia, era salva uma vida inocente.] – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading The prophecy of Daniel 13, 41-62 – in Those days, the 41St assembly believed in them, for they were elders of the people and judges. And they condemned Susana to death. 42Susana, however, weeping, said aloud: "O eternal God, you know the things hidden and know everything beforehand, before it happens! 43You know it is false the testimony they raised against me! Quem me segue não andará nas trevas, mas terá a luz da vida”. 13Então os fariseus disseram: “O teu testemunho não vale, porque estás dando testemunho de ti mesmo”. 14Jesus respondeu: “Ainda que eu dê testemunho de mim mesmo, o meu testemunho é válido, porque sei de onde venho e para onde vou. Mas vós não sabeis donde venho nem para onde vou. 15Vós julgais segundo a carne, eu não julgo ninguém, 16e se eu julgo, o meu julgamento é verdadeiro, porque não estou só, mas comigo está o Pai, que me enviou. 17Na vossa lei está escrito que o testemunho de duas pessoas é verdadeiro. 18Ora, eu dou testemunho de mim mesmo e também o Pai, que me enviou, dá testemunho de mim”. 19Perguntaram então: “Onde está o teu Pai?” Jesus respondeu: “Vós não conheceis nem a mim nem o meu Pai. Se me conhecêsseis, conheceríeis também o meu Pai”. 20Jesus disse estas coisas enquanto estava ensinando no templo, perto da sala do tesouro. E ninguém o prendeu, porque a hora dele ainda não havia chegado. – Palavra da salvação.
