Jesus e a samaritana - Jo 4,5-15.19b-26.39a.40-42
Jesus and the samaritan woman - Jo 4.5-15.19b-26.39a.40-42
beber’, tu mesma lhe pedirias a ele, e ele te daria água viva”. 11 A mulher disse a Jesus: “Senhor, nem sequer tens balde e o poço é fundo.
mundo”.
Biblical Text
At that time, 5 Jesus came to a city of Samaria, called Sicar, near the land that Jacob had given to your son Joseph. 6 that was the well of Jacob. Tired from the trip, Jesus sat by the well. That was around noon. 7 Came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to him: "give me to drink". 8 the disciples had gone into town to buy food. 9 the Samaritan woman said to Jesus: "How can you, being a Jew, ask a drink to me, a Samaritan woman?" In fact, the Jews did not get along with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered him: "If you knew the gift of God and who you ask: ' give me a drink ', you ask him myself to him, and he'd give you living water." 11 the woman said to Jesus: "Lord, you don't even have a bucket and the well is deep. Where are you going to draw living water? 12 actually, are greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank it, but also their children and their animals? " 13 Jesus Replied: "everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. 14 But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give you, this never thirst. And the water I give him will become in him a fountain of water jets for eternal life ". 15 the woman said to Jesus: "Lord, give me this water so that I don't have more thirsty and not have to come here to get you". 19b "Sir, I see you are a prophet." 20 our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem to worship ". 21 Jesus said to her: "believe me, woman, a time is coming when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 you worship what you do not know. We worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth. In fact, these are the worshipers the father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth ". 25 the woman said to Jesus: "I know that Messiah (called Christ) will come. When he comes, we know all things. " 26 Jesus said to her: "it's me, I'm talking to you". 39A Many Samaritans of that city have embraced the faith in Jesus. 40 therefore, the Samaritans came to Jesus and asked him to stay with them. Jesus stayed there two days. 41 and many more believed because of your Word. 42 and said unto the woman: "I no longer believe because of your words, because we hear ourselves and we know that this is truly the saviour of the world".

Refletindo
no primeiro amor.
Reflecting
It is Jesus who is saying that woman, he quenches our thirst for eternity. We need to drink pure water sources of life that has a name, that source is Jesus! Is the heart of him from the water of eternity, we wash and purify, which renews and restores. Is the water that quenches our thirst, reaches our deepest needs; the water reaches that inner dissatisfaction inside of us and, often, we seek to solve. I have to tell you that no humans can quench our thirst, except Jesus our God, our Lord and Savior! Sometimes we find in people that lead us to Jesus, but understand that these people also cannot satisfy us, because they are not the source, not the water. They may even be the arrow that points us Jesus, but don't stop at people, don't stop at situations. Let's meet truly with that source of pure water and real, which is Our Lord Jesus Christ! Let us not too long in the Church or in any pastoral service, stopping at what is superficial. Let's not let the essential, which is this meeting, this loving relationship, intimate and personal with Jesus. I say again, not in the saciemos of the water of Jesus only once, at the first meeting, in first love. Drink this water every day, because only she quenches our thirst and hunger for eternity!
