Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 1,35-42 – Naquele tempo, 35João estava de novo com dois de seus discípulos 36e, vendo Jesus passar, disse: “Eis o Cordeiro de Deus!” 37Ouvindo essas palavras, os dois discípulos seguiram Jesus. 38Voltando-se para eles e vendo que o estavam seguindo, Jesus perguntou: “O que estais procurando?” Eles disseram: “Rabi (que quer dizer mestre), onde moras?” 39Jesus respondeu: “Vinde ver”. Foram, pois, ver onde ele morava e, nesse dia, permaneceram com ele. Era por volta das quatro da tarde. 40André, irmão de Simão Pedro, era um dos dois que ouviram as palavras de João e seguiram Jesus. 41Ele foi encontrar primeiro seu irmão Simão e lhe disse: “Encontramos o Messias” (que quer dizer Cristo). 42Então André conduziu Simão a Jesus. Jesus olhou bem para ele e disse: “Tu és Simão, filho de João; tu serás chamado Cefas” (que quer dizer pedra). – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 1,35-42 - At that time, 35João was again with two of his disciples 36 and, seeing Jesus pass by, said: "Behold the Lamb of God!" 37Hearing these words, the two disciples followed Jesus. 38 Turning to them and seeing that they were following him, Jesus asked, "What are you looking for?" They said: "Rabbi (meaning master), where do you live?" 39Jesus replied, "Come and see." So they went to see where he lived and that day they stayed with him. It was around four in the afternoon. 40André, brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John's words and followed Jesus. 41He went to meet his brother Simon first and said to him, "We found the Messiah" (which means Christ). 42Then Andrew led Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said: “You are Simon, son of John; you will be called Cephas ”(meaning stone). - Word of salvation.

Ó Jesus, Cordeiro de Deus, mediante Teus ensinamentos e atitudes, cativas os dois discípulos de João. Eles te acompanham e, depois de testemunharem Tua ação libertadora em favor do povo, tornam-se Teus fervorosos seguidores e bons instrumentos para convidar novos adeptos para o Reino de Deus. Amém.

To Pray

O Jesus, Lamb of God, through Your teachings and attitudes, captive the two disciples of John. They accompany you and, after witnessing Your liberating action on behalf of the people, they become Your fervent followers and good instruments to invite new followers to the Kingdom of God. Amen.
