1a. Leitura - Deuteronômio 30,15-20

Leitura do livro do Deuteronômio – Moisés falou ao povo, dizendo: ¹⁵“Vê que eu hoje te proponho a vida e a felicidade, a morte e a desgraça. ¹⁶Se obedeceres aos preceitos do Senhor teu Deus, que eu hoje te ordeno, amando ao Senhor teu Deus, seguindo seus caminhos e guardando seus mandamentos, suas leis e seus decretos, viverás e te multiplicarás, e o Senhor teu Deus te abençoará na terra em que vais entrar para possuí-la. ¹⁷Se, porém, o teu coração se desviar e não quiseres escutar, e se, deixando-te levar pelo erro, adorares deuses estranhos e os servires, ¹⁸eu vos anuncio hoje que certamente perecereis. Não vivereis muito tempo na terra onde ides entrar, depois de atravessar o Jordão, para ocupá-la. ¹⁹Tomo hoje o céu e a terra como testemunhas contra vós de que vos propus a vida e a morte, a bênção e a maldição. Escolhe, pois, a vida, para que vivas, tu e teus descendentes, ²⁰amando ao Senhor teu Deus, obedecendo à sua voz e apegando-te a ele – pois ele é a tua vida e prolonga os teus dias, a fim de que habites na terra que o Senhor jurou dar a teus pais, Abraão, Isaac e Jacó”. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - Deuteronomy 30,15-20

Evangelho - Lucas 9,22-25

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: ²²“O Filho do homem deve sofrer muito, ser rejeitado pelos anciãos, pelos sumos sacerdotes e doutores da lei, deve ser morto e ressuscitar no terceiro dia”. ²³Depois Jesus disse a todos: “Se alguém me quer seguir, renuncie a si mesmo, tome sua cruz cada dia e siga-me. ²⁴Pois quem quiser salvar a sua vida vai perdê-la; e quem perder a sua vida por causa de mim, esse a salvará. ²⁵Com efeito, de que adianta a um homem ganhar o mundo inteiro se se perde e se destrói a si mesmo?” – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Matthew 6,1-6.16-18

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke - At that time Jesus said to his disciples: 22 "The Son of man must suffer much, be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and teachers of the law, he must be killed and rise on the third day ". 23 Then Jesus said to all, "If anyone wants to follow me, let him renounce himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what good is it for a man to gain the whole world if he loses himself and destroys himself? "- The word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Jesus se confronta com as autoridades civis e religiosas e será condenado à morte. Essa é a realidade reservada ao Mestre; esse é o itinerário que todo cristão deverá percorrer: “Quem quiser salvar a própria vida, a perderá. Mas quem perder a própria vida por causa de mim, a salvará”. Morrer para viver. Parece atitude absurda, mas a nossa salvação é fruto do extremo sacrifício de Jesus.  “Alguém  pagou  preço alto pelo resgate de vocês” (1Cor 6,20). Essa era a catequese ensinada aos primeiros cristãos: “Nós anunciamos Cristo crucificado, escândalo para os judeus, loucura para as nações” (1Cor 1,23). Aos discípulos de Jesus cabe trilhar o caminho percorrido por ele. Quais são os meus projetos pessoais? Quais são os projetos de Jesus para mim?

Reflecting the Gospel
