1a. Leitura - Jó 7,1-4.6-7 

Leitura do livro de Jó – Jó disse: ¹“Não é acaso uma luta a vida do homem sobre a terra? Seus dias não são como dias de um mercenário? ²Como um escravo suspira pela sombra, como um assalariado aguarda sua paga, ³assim tive por ganho meses de decepção, e couberam-me noites de sofrimento. ⁴Se me deito, penso: quando poderei levantar-me? E, ao amanhecer, espero novamente a tarde e me encho de sofrimentos até o anoitecer. ⁶Meus dias correm mais rápido do que a lançadeira do tear e se consomem sem esperança. ⁷Lembra-te de que minha vida é apenas um sopro e meus olhos não voltarão a ver a felicidade!” – Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - Job 7,1-4.6-7

Reading the book of Job - Job said: 1 "Is not the life of man on earth a struggle? Are not your days like a mercenary's day? 2As a slave sighs in the shade, as a hireling waits for his wages, so I have won months of disappointment, and nights of suffering fit me. And I lie down, I think: when can I get up? Evangelho - Marcos 1,29-39

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos – Naquele tempo, ²⁹Jesus saiu da sinagoga e foi, com Tiago e João, para a casa de Simão e André. ³⁰A sogra de Simão estava de cama, com febre, e eles logo contaram a Jesus. ³¹E ele se aproximou, segurou sua mão e ajudou-a a levantar-se. Então, a febre desapareceu, e ela começou a servi-los. ³²À tarde, depois do pôr do sol, levaram a Jesus todos os doentes e os possuídos pelo demônio. ³³A cidade inteira se reuniu em frente da casa. ³⁴Jesus curou muitas pessoas de diversas doenças e expulsou muitos demônios. E não deixava que os demônios falassem, pois sabiam quem ele era. ³⁵De madrugada, quando ainda estava escuro, Jesus se levantou e foi rezar num lugar deserto. ³⁶Simão e seus companheiros foram à procura de Jesus. ³⁷Quando o encontraram, disseram: “Todos estão te procurando”. ³⁸Jesus respondeu: “Vamos a outros lugares, às aldeias da redondeza! Devo pregar também ali, pois foi para isso que eu vim”. ³⁹E andava por toda a Galileia, pregando em suas sinagogas e expulsando os demônios. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Mark 1,29-39

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ According to Mark - At that time, Jesus left the synagogue and went with James and John to the house of Simon and Andrew. 30 Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they soon told Jesus. And he came and took her hand and helped her up. Then the fever disappeared, and she began to serve them. And he would not let the demons speak, for they knew who he was. 35And in the morning, when it was still dark, Jesus arose and went to pray in a desert place. 36Simon and his companions went in search of Jesus. 37When they found him, they said, "Everyone is looking for you." 38Jesus answered, "Let us go to other places, to the surrounding villages! Refletindo o Evangelho

Jesus está em atividade intensa. Logo após curar o endemoninhado na sinagoga (lugar religioso de encontro com Deus), no domingo passado; em seguida, vai para ambiente familiar (lugar de relações íntimas), onde cura a sogra de Pedro; à tardinha encontra-se em frente à porta (símbolo de abertura a todos), onde realiza muitas curas. De madrugada, reza e depois se coloca novamente a caminho para aldeias da vizinhança. O segredo de tanta força e energia de Jesus está na oração, sua comunhão direta com o Pai. Nesse encontro com o Pai, Jesus tem a fonte do seu próprio amor; em outras palavras, aprende do Pai a amar e fazer o bem às pessoas. Com sua prática, Jesus concretiza seu projeto: o Reino de Deus está próximo. Vence as forças do mal que ameaçam a vida e a liberdade das pessoas em todos os ambientes (sinagoga, casa, porta). Quando é procurado por interesses duvidosos, coloca-se em marcha para outros ambientes, para fugir da tentação do poder e do prestígio. Para seus seguidores, Jesus é a “mão que Deus estende” à pessoa necessitada de acolhida, proteção, carinho e amor.

Reflecting the Gospel

Jesus is in intense activity. Soon after healing the demon-possessed in the synagogue (religious place in encounter with God), last Sunday; then goes to family environment (place of intimate relations), where he heals Pedro's mother-in-law; in the evening he is in front of the door (symbol of openness to all), where he performs many cures. At dawn he prays and then sets off again on his way to nearby villages. The secret of so much strength and energy of Jesus is in prayer, his direct communion with the Father. In this encounter with the Father, Jesus has the source of his own love; in other words, learn from the Father to love and do good to people. Through his practice, Jesus concretizes his project: the Kingdom of God is near. Overcome the forces of evil that threaten the life and liberty of people in all environments (synagogue, home, door). When sought after by dubious interests, he sets out for other environments to escape the temptation of power and prestige. For his followers, Jesus is the "hand that God extends" to the person in need of shelter, protection, affection and love.
