E todos quantos o tocavam ficavam curados.
And all who touched him were healed.

1a. Leitura - 1 Reis 8,1-7.9-13

Leitura do primeiro livro dos Reis – Naqueles dias, ¹Salomão convocou, junto de si em Jerusalém, todos os anciãos de Israel, todos os chefes das tribos e príncipes das famílias dos filhos de Israel, a fim de transferir da cidade de Sião, que é Jerusalém, a arca da aliança do Senhor. ²Todo o Israel reuniu-se em torno de Salomão, no mês de Etanim, ou seja, no sétimo mês, durante a festa. ³Vieram todos os anciãos de Israel, e os sacerdotes tomaram a arca ⁴e carregaram-na junto com a tenda da reunião, como também todos os objetos sagrados que nela estavam; quem os carregava eram os sacerdotes e os levitas. ⁵O rei Salomão e toda a comunidade de Israel, reunida em torno dele, imolavam diante da arca ovelhas e bois em tal quantidade, que não se podia contar nem calcular. ⁶E os sacerdotes conduziram a arca da aliança do Senhor ao seu lugar, no santuário do templo, ao Santo dos Santos, debaixo das asas dos querubins, ⁷pois os querubins estendiam suas asas sobre o lugar da arca, cobrindo a arca e seus varais por cima. ⁹Dentro da arca só havia as duas tábuas de pedra que Moisés ali tinha deposto no monte Horeb, quando o Senhor concluiu a aliança com os filhos de Israel, logo que saíram da terra do Egito. ¹⁰Ora, quando os sacerdotes deixaram o santuário, uma nuvem encheu o templo do Senhor, ¹¹de modo que os sacerdotes não puderam continuar as funções porque a glória do Senhor tinha enchido o templo do Senhor. ¹²Então Salomão disse: “O Senhor disse que habitaria numa nuvem, ¹³e eu edifiquei uma casa para tua morada, um templo onde vivas para sempre”. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - 1 Kings 8,1-7.9-13

Reading of the first book of the Kings - In those days, 1 Solomon gathered together all the elders of Israel, all the chiefs of the tribes, and the princes of the families of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem out of the city of Zion, which is Jerusalem, the ark of the covenant of the Lord. 2 All Israel gathered around Solomon in the month of Ethanim, that is, in the seventh month, during the feast. 3And all the elders of Israel saw, and the priests took the ark 4 and carried it with the tent of meeting, as well as all the sacred objects that were therein; the priests and the Levites were the ones who carried them. 5 King Solomon and all the community of Israel gathered around him and slaughtered sheep and oxen before the ark in such numbers that they could neither be counted nor calculated. 6And the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to his place, in the temple sanctuary, to the Holy of Holies, under the wings of the cherubim; 7 And the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, covering the ark and its rods over . 9In the ark there were only two stone tablets that Moses had deposited there on Mount Horeb, when the Lord concluded the covenant with the children of Israel as soon as they came out of the land of Egypt. 10And when the priests left the sanctuary, a cloud filled the temple of the Lord, 11 so that the priests could not continue their duties because the glory of the Lord had filled the temple of the Lord. 12Then Solomon said, "The Lord said that he would dwell in a cloud, 13 and I have built a house for your dwelling, a temple where you live forever." - Word of the Lord.

Evangelho - Marcos 6,53-56

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos – Naquele tempo, ⁵³tendo Jesus e seus discípulos acabado de atravessar o mar da Galileia, chegaram a Genesaré e amarraram a barca. ⁵⁴Logo que desceram da barca, as pessoas imediatamente reconheceram Jesus. ⁵⁵Percorrendo toda aquela região, levavam os doentes deitados em suas camas para o lugar onde ouviam falar que Jesus estava. ⁵⁶E, nos povoados, cidades e campos aonde chegavam, colocavam os doentes nas praças e pediam-lhe para tocar, ao menos, a barra de sua veste. E todos quantos o tocavam ficavam curados. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Mark6,53-56

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark - At that time, when Jesus and his disciples had just crossed the Sea of Galilee, they came to Gennesaret and tied the boat. As soon as they got out of the boat, people immediately recognized Jesus. 55Without the whole region, they carried the sick in their beds to the place where they heard that Jesus was. 56And in the villages, towns, and fields where they came, they placed the sick in the squares and asked him to touch at least the hem of his garment. And all who touched him were healed. - Word of salvation.

 

Refletindo o Evangelho

Sem ser incomodado pelas autoridades, Jesus circula livremente por “toda a região”. Não fixa um ponto para o atendimento, mas percorre “vilarejos, cidades ou campos”. E os doentes acorrem a ele com as próprias pernas ou transportados em macas e postos diante dele. Querem tocar ao menos a barra do seu manto. Pelo toque, dá-se a transmissão de uma energia curativa. Lucas esclarece: “porque dele saía uma força que curava a todos” (Lc 6,19). Naturalmente Jesus oferece uma cura que ultrapassa o aspecto físico, conforme a disposição interna da pessoa. A cura verdadeira e completa atinge  o interior. É a libertação da ganância, do ódio, dos ressentimentos e tristezas. Dos que eram curados, Jesus esperava inteira adesão a ele e generoso serviço à comunidade.

Reflecting the Gospel

Without being bothered by the authorities, Jesus circulates freely for "the whole region." It does not set a point for service, but runs through "villages, cities or fields". And the sick come to him with their own legs or transported on stretchers and laid before him. They want to touch at least the hem of his cloak. By touch, the transmission of a healing energy is given. Luke clarifies: "for out of it came a force that healed all" (Lk 6:19). Of course Jesus offers a healing that goes beyond the physical aspect, according to the inner disposition of the person. True and complete healing strikes the inside. It is the liberation of greed, hatred, resentment and sorrow. Of those who were healed, Jesus expected full membership and generous service to the community.
