Refletindo o Evangelho
O esquema se repete, como se repete a incompreensão dos chefes religiosos. Jesus ensina na sinagoga, em dia de sábado. Está presente uma mulher encurvada, símbolo do povo sobrecarregado de pesados fardos. Sem que ela profira nenhuma palavra, Jesus, com uma ordem e imposição das mãos, a liberta de sua enfermidade: “no mesmo instante ela se endireitou”. Liberta e agora feliz, ela se põe a glorificar a Deus. Desconforto para o chefe da sinagoga que, apegado a seu legalismo hipócrita, tenta impedir que os outros glorifiquem a Deus como seres capazes de estar de pé. Jesus argumenta que essa “filha de Abraão” é mais importante do que uma religião que não liberta e só pesa para as pessoas. Os inimigos de Jesus ficam sem graça, e a multidão “se alegrava por todas as maravilhas que Jesus realizava”.

Reflecting the Gospel
