1a. Leitura - Jonas 3,1-10
Leitura da profecia de Jonas – 1 A palavra do Senhor foi dirigida a Jonas pela segunda vez: 2 “Levanta-te e põe-te a caminho da grande cidade de Nínive e anuncia-lhe a mensagem que eu te vou confiar”. 3 Jonas
pôs-se a caminho de Nínive, conforme a ordem do Senhor. Ora, Nínive era
uma cidade muito grande; eram necessários três dias para ser
atravessada. 4 Jonas entrou na cidade, percorrendo o caminho
de um dia; pregava ao povo, dizendo: “Ainda quarenta dias, e Nínive será
destruída”. 5 Os ninivitas acreditaram em Deus; aceitaram fazer jejum e vestiram sacos, desde o superior ao inferior. 6 A
pregação chegara aos ouvidos do rei de Nínive; ele levantou-se do trono
e pôs de lado o manto real, vestiu-se de saco e sentou-se em cima de
cinza. 7 Em seguida, fez proclamar em Nínive, como decreto do
rei e dos príncipes: “Homens e animais bovinos e ovinos não provarão
nada! Não comerão e não beberão água. 8 Homens e animais se
cobrirão de sacos, e os homens rezarão a Deus com força; cada um deve
afastar-se do mau caminho e de suas práticas perversas. 9 Deus talvez volte atrás, para perdoar-nos e aplacar sua ira, e assim não venhamos a perecer”. 10 Vendo
Deus as suas obras de conversão e que os ninivitas se afastavam do mau
caminho, compadeceu-se e suspendeu o mal que tinha ameaçado fazer-lhes, e
não o fez. – Palavra do Senhor.
1st Reading - Jonah 3,1-10Reading the prophecy of Jonah - 1 the word of the Lord was directed at Jonas for the second time: 2 "get up and get on my way to the great city of Nineveh and Announces him the message that I'm going to trust". 3 Jonas stood on the way to Nineveh, according to the order of the Lord. I don't eat and don't drink water. 8 Men and animals will cover bags, and men pray to God with force; each must move away from the wrong path and their wicked practices. 9 God maybe go back, to forgive us and appease your wrath, and so we will not perish ". 10 Seeing God his work of conversion and the ninevites went the wrong way, repented and suspended the evil that had threatened to make them, and he didn't. -The word of the Lord.

porém, estava ocupada com muitos afazeres. Ela aproximou-se e disse:
“Senhor, não te importas que minha irmã me deixe sozinha com todo o
serviço? Manda que ela me venha ajudar!” 41 O Senhor, porém, lhe respondeu: “Marta, Marta! Tu te preocupas e andas agitada por muitas coisas. 42 Porém uma só coisa é necessária. Maria escolheu a melhor parte e esta não lhe será tirada”. – Palavra da salvação.

Refletindo o Evangelho
Marta recebe Jesus em casa. Agita-se com muito serviço: representa os fiéis observantes da Lei. Sua atitude está centrada no fazer. Maria, sua irmã, senta-se aos pés de Jesus e ouve-lhe a palavra: concentra-se inteiramente no escutar a
novidade do Mestre. Marta censura Jesus por não envolver Maria no
trabalho; quer tirar a irmã do diálogo com ele. É o instinto de posse
dos que observam a Lei: pensam que mandam em tudo. Jesus responde à
zanga de Marta com severa advertência e coloca os valores nos devidos
lugares. Marta se envolve com muitos afazeres. Para Jesus tudo é
secundário, menos escutar sua mensagem. Marta escolhe o que lhe dá mais
segurança (casa, observâncias legais), enquanto Maria escolhe a pessoa
de Jesus (cf. Js 13,14). Única fonte de ação frutuosa.

Out of the depths I cry to you, o Lord,/hear my voice! /Your ears are tuned to the roar of the/my prayer! If you take into account our faults,/who will survive? /But in you is forgiveness,/I fear and hope in thee.
