Não tenhais medo! Vós valeis mais do que muitos pardais.
Do not be afraid! You are worth more than many sparrows.
1a. Leitura - Romanos 4,1-8
1st Reading - Romans 4,1-8
Reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Romans – Brothers, 1 what advantage we say have gotten our father Abraham according to the flesh? 2 for if Abraham became righteous by virtue of the works, is there a reason for your glory ... but not before God. 3 What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed in God, and it was credited as righteousness". 4 Now, for a job, the wage is not credited as a free gift, but as a debt. 5 but to the one who, instead of doing a job, believeth on him that makes it fair to the ungodly, your faith is credited as righteousness certificate. 6 this is how David declares happy the man to whom God credits righteousness regardless of works: 7 "Happy are they whose transgressions were redeemed and whose sins have been forgiven; 8 blessed is the man which God does not take into account the sin ". -The word of the Lord.
Evangelho - Lucas 12,1-7
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke - 1 at that time, thousands of people gathered, some step on the other. Jesus began to speak, first to his disciples: "Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and there is nothing hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore, all what you have said in the dark will be heard in the light; and what you have pronounced by the ear, in fourth, will be proclaimed on the housetops. 4 well, my friends, I say to you, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and may not do more than that. 5 I will show you whom you should fear: fear him who, after taking the life, has the power to throw you in hell. Yes, I say to you, this fear. 6 don't sell five sparrows for a small fee? However, none of them is forgotten by God. 7 even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid! You are worth more than many sparrows ". - The word of salvation.
Refletindo o Evangelho
Jesus denounced the Pharisees because they make the observance of the law the springboard to obtain privileges. They consider themselves the pure, Saints. Instead of serving the people, serve the people, to save your social position. This is the "yeast" of the Pharisees; This is the evil influence that can infiltrate within the Christian community. The disciples should share what they have learned from the Master. But beware: any hypocrisy, in speech and in testimony, will prove to be a day. Masks shall be grubbed up. The disciples, here called "friends", are exhorted not to fear (in time of persecution), but have the courage to publicly confess Jesus. The Father takes care of all and is present in all circumstances. If God takes care of helpless birds, will have more zeal by following your Son.
