Mt 5,20

"I tell you, if your righteousness is no greater than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven." Mt, 5-20

A justiça do Reino propõe fidelidade mútua e direitos e deveres iguais. Pessoa sincera dispensa juramentos.

In this Sunday's gospel text, Jesus begins by saying that he did not come to abolish the “Law and the Prophets”, but to show their value beyond superficial or literal interpretation. The Master defends Scripture, since it was given to teach the way of justice, seen as fulfilling the will of God. In the four examples presented, Jesus shows the correct way to interpret the “spirit of the law”. "Not killing" does not just mean not spilling blood; this commandment proposes a commitment to the defense of every person's life. “Do not commit adultery”: Jesus condemns you and invites you to root out evil. Kingdom justice proposes mutual fidelity and equal rights and duties. Jesus' proposal is that there should be total transparency and honesty between husband and wife. Oaths do not guarantee relationships based on truth and trust. Sincere person waives oaths.
