26/2 🇧🇷Evangelho do dia 🇺🇸Gospel of the day

Jejum, esmola e oração.
Fasting, almsgiving and prayer.

The function of fasting is to make us free, free, to have self-control, self-control over ourselves. That is why fasting is linked to prayer, and prayer is what fuels fasting. It's not just spending the day without eating, sulking, frowning, with a headache. This fasting does not please God. Fasting is to be offered to God, to call upon Him, in order for Him to help us have control over our nature. What is the fast that pleases God? It is not simply to stop eating, the important thing is that we really have a discipline in relation to food, it is necessary, it is serious for our physical, psychological, psychological and spiritual health. When fasting is well lived, especially in the spirit of prayer, surrender to God, it shapes the inner inclinations. Therefore, an excellent path for our spiritual life, for our relationship with God, for our self-control, self-control, is not to give up fasting. Fasting, which is not spiritual worship, is simply an abstinence from food. For example: the person will draw blood and go without coffee, spending so many hours without eating. This is one thing, but to know that, now it's time for the meal and give it up or do it in a different way, to offer to God and, really, to say 'no' to my nature. Fasting is not practiced just on this day or during Lent, as we often need to practice fasting at times in our life, to break the yokes within us, negative inclinations, injustices. Fasting is a holy, blessed and sweet remedy.

Evangelho

Gospel
Jesus Christ, you are blessed, / you are the anointed one of God the Father! May you hear his voice today: / Do not close your hearts as in Meriba! (Ps 94.8) - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 6,1-6,16-18 - At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 1 “Be careful not to practice your justice in front of men just to be seen for them. Otherwise, you will not receive the reward from your Father in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you give alms, do not blow the trumpet before you, as hypocrites do in synagogues and in the streets, to be praised by men. Truly I tell you, they have already received their reward. 3On the contrary, when you give alms, let your left hand not know what your right hand does, 4 so that your alms are hidden. And your Father, who sees what is hidden, will give you the reward. 5When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who like to pray standing in synagogues and on the corners of squares, to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they have already received their reward. 6On the contrary, when you pray, enter your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is hidden. And your Father, who sees what is hidden, will give you the reward. 16 When you fast, do not keep your face sad like the hypocrites. They disfigure their faces so that men can see that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have already received their reward. 17You, however, when you fast, perfume your head and wash your face, 18 so that men do not see that you are fasting, but only your Father, who is hidden. And your Father, who sees what is hidden, will give you the reward ”. - Word of salvation.
