Evangelho - Marcos 6,30-34

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos – Naquele tempo, ³⁰os apóstolos reuniram-se com Jesus e contaram tudo o que haviam feito e ensinado. ³¹Ele lhes disse: “Vinde sozinhos para um lugar deserto e descansai um pouco”. Havia, de fato, tanta gente chegando e saindo, que não tinham tempo nem para comer. ³²Então foram sozinhos, de barco, para um lugar deserto e afastado. ³³Muitos os viram partir e reconheceram que eram eles. Saindo de todas as cidades, correram a pé e chegaram lá antes deles. ³⁴Ao desembarcar, Jesus viu uma numerosa multidão e teve compaixão, porque eram como ovelhas sem pastor. Começou, pois, a ensinar-lhes muitas coisas. ­­­– Palavra da salvação.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Após a avaliação de uma viagem missionária, os apóstolos são convidados a se retirarem para um descanso. Eram tantos os que procuravam Jesus e seus discípulos que, diz o evangelho, não tinham tempo sequer para comer. Ao se deslocarem para um lugar deserto, foram precedidos pela multidão. Vendo-a, Jesus teve compaixão, comoveu-se interiormente, como a mãe que vê o sofrimento dos filhos, pois eram como “ovelhas sem pastor”. Ter compaixão é sentir e encarnar em si a dor do outro. Venham para o descanso, diz Jesus. Todos, inclusive os discípulos-missionários de Jesus, temos necessidade de descanso. O papa Francisco nos alerta sobre a “doença do martismo, de Marta, da atividade excessiva, ou seja, daqueles que mergulham no trabalho, negligenciando inevitavelmente ‘a melhor parte’: sentar-se aos pés de Jesus. Por isso, Jesus convidou os seus discípulos a ‘descansar um pouco’, porque descuidar do descanso necessário leva ao estresse e à agitação. O tempo do repouso, para quem levou a cabo a sua missão, é necessário, obrigatório e deve ser vivido seriamente: passar algum tempo com os familiares e respeitar as férias como momentos de recarga espiritual e física”.

Reflecting the Gospel

That is why Jesus invited his disciples to "rest a little," because neglecting the necessary rest leads to stress and agitation. The time of rest, for those who carried out their mission, is necessary, obligatory and must be lived seriously: spend some time with family and respect vacations as moments of spiritual and physical recharge.
