Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Naquele tempo, 1entrando em um barco, Jesus atravessou para a outra margem do lago e foi para a sua cidade. 2Apresentaram-lhe,
então, um paralítico deitado numa cama. Vendo a fé que eles tinham,
Jesus disse ao paralítico: “Coragem, filho, os teus pecados estão
perdoados!” 3Então alguns mestres da lei pensaram: “Esse homem está blasfemando!” 4Mas Jesus, conhecendo os pensamentos deles, disse: “Por que tendes esses maus pensamentos em vossos corações? 5O que é mais fácil, dizer: ‘Os teus pecados estão perdoados’ ou dizer: ‘Levanta-te e anda’? 6Pois
bem, para que saibais que o Filho do homem tem, na terra, poder para
perdoar pecados” – disse, então, ao paralítico –, “levanta-te, pega a
tua cama e vai para a tua casa”. 7O paralítico então se levantou e foi para a sua casa. 8Vendo isso, a multidão ficou com medo e glorificou a Deus, por ter dado tal poder aos homens. – Palavra da salvação.

the faith they had, Jesus said to the paralytic, "Courage, son, your
sins are forgiven!" 3Then some teachers of the law thought, "This man is
blaspheming!" 4But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said: who have these evil thoughts in your hearts? 5What is easier, to say, 'Thy sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Arise and walk'? 6
Well then, that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to
forgive sins, "he said to the paralytic," get up, take your bed and go
to your house. " 7The paralytic then rose and went to his house. 8 And when the people saw this, they were afraid, and glorified God, because he had given such power to men. - Word of salvation.
Refletindo o Evangelho
Certamente Jesus tinha intenção de curar o paralítico. Mas, começa pelo
lado mais oculto: os pecados. A cura indica que já está presente o Reino
de Deus, que inclui também a remoção do pecado. Os doutores da Lei
reagem imediatamente. Sabiam que perdoar pecados era competência somente
de Deus. Como pode Jesus ter tal pretensão? Ora, assim como o Filho de
Deus tem o poder sobre doenças, forças da natureza e até sobre a morte,
por que não perdoaria pecados? Para ficar claro que o “Filho do Homem”
recebeu de Deus o poder de perdoar pecados, Jesus ordena ao paralítico
que vá para casa, carregando sua maca. Escândalo para os doutores da
Lei, que continuam cegos diante do Messias, e alegria para as multidões
que glorificavam a Deus, pelo poder dado a Jesus, que o estenderá aos
apóstolos.

Certainly Jesus intended to heal the paralytic. But, start with the most hidden side: sins. The healing indicates that the Kingdom of God is already present, which also includes the removal of sin. The doctors of the law react immediately. They knew that forgiving sins was the responsibility of God alone. How can Jesus have such a pretense? Now, just as the Son of God has power over diseases, forces of nature, and even death, why should he not forgive sins? To
make it clear that the "Son of Man" received from God the power to
forgive sins, Jesus commands the paralytic to go home, carrying his
stretcher. Scandal for the Doctors of the Law, who remain
blind to the Messiah, and joy to the multitudes who glorified God, by
the power given to Jesus, which will extend it to the apostles.
