Evangelho - Mateus 11,25-27

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – ²⁵Naquele tempo, Jesus pôs-se a dizer: “Eu te louvo, ó Pai, Senhor do céu e da terra, porque escondeste estas coisas aos sábios e entendidos e as revelaste aos pequeninos. ²⁶Sim, Pai, porque assim foi do teu agrado. ²⁷Tudo me foi entregue por meu Pai, e ninguém conhece o Filho, senão o Pai, e ninguém conhece o Pai, senão o Filho e aquele a quem o Filho o quiser revelar”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew - 25 At that time Jesus began to say: "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to the little ones . 26Yes, Father, for so it was pleasing to you. All things are delivered unto me by my Father, and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father, and no man knoweth the Father, save the Son, and him to whom the Son will reveal him." - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Ao se dirigir ao Pai, Jesus reúne alguns títulos que revelam o domínio soberano de Deus: “Pai”, “Senhor do céu e da terra”. “Sábios e entendidos” são termos aplicados aos membros da elite religiosa e política, que se recusaram a reconhecer Jesus como o enviado do Pai. Não é que Deus os tenha privado dessa possibilidade, eles é que se posicionaram contra Jesus e seu Reino. Tornaram-se tão opostos a Jesus, que o perseguiram o tempo todo até fazê-lo morrer na cruz. Os “pequeninos”, por sua vez, são os que buscam proteção, que anseiam por justiça. Estes têm o coração aberto para acolher o projeto de Deus. A mensagem de Jesus é digna de confiança e aceitação, pois ele a recebe diretamente do Pai, a quem conhece como ninguém.

Reflecting the Gospel

In addressing the Father, Jesus gathers some titles that reveal God's sovereign dominion: "Father," "Lord of heaven and earth." "Wise and wise" are terms applied to members of the religious and political elite who refused to acknowledge Jesus as the Father's messenger. It is not that God has deprived them of this possibility, they have stood against Jesus and his Kingdom. They became so opposed to Jesus that they persecuted him all the way to death on the cross. The little ones, on the other hand, are those who seek protection and yearn for justice. They have an open heart to welcome the plan of God. The message of Jesus is worthy of trust and acceptance, for he receives it directly from the Father, whom he knows as no one else..
