Evangelho - Mateus 5,13-16

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: ¹³“Vós sois o sal da terra. Ora, se o sal se tornar insosso, com que salgaremos? Ele não servirá para mais nada, senão para ser jogado fora e ser pisado pelos homens. ¹⁴Vós sois a luz do mundo. Não pode ficar escondida uma cidade construída sobre um monte. ¹⁵Ninguém acende uma lâmpada e a coloca debaixo de uma vasilha, mas sim num candeeiro, onde ela brilha para todos os que estão em casa. ¹⁶Assim também brilhe a vossa luz diante dos homens, para que vejam as vossas boas obras e louvem o vosso Pai que está nos céus”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Matthew - At that time Jesus said to his disciples, 13 "You are the salt of the earth. Now, if the salt is to become salty, wherewith shall we salute? He will serve no other purpose except to be thrown out and trampled upon by men. 14You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill can not be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl, but a lamp, where it shines for all who are in the house. 16Therefore also let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and praise your Father which is in heaven. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

O Reino de Deus se constrói a partir de pequeno grupo, com a força do Espírito Santo. Mas este início quase imperceptível não pode ficar fechado, inexpressivo, acanhado. Tem que expandir-se. Por isso, Jesus desperta seus discípulos para uma missão de abrangência universal. O sal é que torna o alimento comestível, apetecível. O verdadeiro discípulo de Cristo é o que vibra com sua escolha, fala do Reino com entusiasmo. Não se deixa corromper pelas tentações da riqueza e do poder. A luz é a própria presença renovadora de Jesus, que se auto definiu: “Eu sou a luz do mundo” (Jo 8,12). Assim, todo cristão e toda cristã, empenhados no serviço generoso ao Reino, são instrumentos de paz e fraternidade, promotores da boa convivência social, exemplos de fé, de amor e de esperança para todos.
 
Reflecting the Gospel

The Kingdom of God is built from a small group, with the power of the Holy Spirit. But this almost imperceptible beginning can not be closed, expressionless, shy. It has to expand. That is why Jesus awakens his disciples to a mission of universal scope. Salt is what makes food edible, appetizing. The true disciple of Christ is the one who vibrates with his choice, speaks of the Kingdom with enthusiasm. Do not be corrupted by the temptations of wealth and power. The light is the very renewing presence of Jesus, who defined himself: "I am the light of the world" (Jn 8:12). Thus, every Christian and every Christian, engaged in generous service to the Kingdom, are instruments of peace and brotherhood, promoters of good social coexistence, examples of faith, love and hope for all.

When I call, answer me, O my God, my justice! † Ye that knew how to relieve me in times of distress, / Hearken unto me in piety, and hear my prayer! Children of men, how long will you close your heart? / Why do you love delusion and seek falsehood? Understand that our God does wonders for his servant / and that the Lord will hear me when I pray to him! / If you become angry, do not sin because of your anger; / meditate on your beds and shut up the heart! There are many who ask themselves, "Who gives us happiness?" / On us we will shine the splendor of your face! / You have given me, O Lord, more joy to the heart / than to others in the abundance of your wheat and new wine. Psalm 4.
