Ele não é Deus de mortos, mas de vivos!

Evangelho - Marcos 12,18-27

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos – Naquele tempo, ¹⁸vieram ter com Jesus alguns saduceus, os quais afirmam que não existe ressurreição, e lhe propuseram este caso: ¹⁹“Mestre, Moisés deu-nos esta prescrição: se morrer o irmão de alguém e deixar a esposa sem filhos, o irmão desse homem deve casar-se com a viúva, a fim de garantir a descendência de seu irmão. ²⁰Ora, havia sete irmãos; o mais velho casou-se e morreu sem deixar descendência. ²¹O segundo casou-se com a viúva e morreu sem deixar descendência. E a mesma coisa aconteceu com o terceiro. ²²E nenhum dos sete deixou descendência. Por último, morreu também a mulher. ²³Na ressurreição, quando eles ressuscitarem, de quem será ela mulher? Por que os sete se casaram com ela!” ²⁴Jesus respondeu: “Acaso vós não estais enganados, por não conhecerdes as Escrituras nem o poder de Deus? ²⁵Com efeito, quando os mortos ressuscitarem, os homens e as mulheres não se casarão, pois serão como os anjos do céu. ²⁶Quanto ao fato da ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes no livro de Moisés, na passagem da sarça ardente, como Deus lhe falou: ‘Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó’? ²⁷Ora, ele não é Deus de mortos, mas de vivos! Vós estais muito enganados”. – Palavra da salvação.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Os saduceus não admitiam outra vida depois da morte. Eram materialistas. O horizonte deles era esta vida e nela procuravam manter sua posição de poder e de privilégio. Ao responder ao caso proposto por eles, Jesus atinge também os fariseus. Estes acreditavam na ressurreição e em outra vida, que imaginavam como retorno à vida terrena em condições de total bem-estar. Jesus esclarece: a vida após a morte não é simples retorno ou repetição da vida anterior vivida neste mundo. Trata-se de vida em outra dimensão, “como os anjos”. Bem outro é o esquema da vida eterna. Nela não há matrimônio nem necessidade de procriação para conservar a espécie humana. Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, a Escritura nos ilumina: o Deus de Jesus é o Deus da vida, porque sua força é a força da vida. Vida sem fim.

Reflecting the Gospel

The Sadducees did not allow another life after death. They were materialists. Their horizon was this life and in it they sought to maintain their position of power and privilege. In answering the case proposed by them, Jesus also strikes the Pharisees. These believed in the resurrection and in another life, which they imagined as a return to the earthly life in conditions of total well-being. Jesus clarifies: the afterlife is not a simple return or repetition of the previous life lived in this world. It is about life in another dimension, "like the angels." Another is the scheme of eternal life. In her there is no marriage nor need of procreation to conserve the human species. As for the resurrection of the dead, Scripture enlightens us: the God of Jesus is the God of life, because his strength is the life force. Endless life.
