primeiro dia da festa dos Ázimos, os discípulos aproximaram-se de Jesus
e perguntaram: “Onde queres que façamos os preparativos para comer a
Páscoa?” 18Jesus respondeu: “Ide à cidade, procurai certo
homem e dizei-lhe: ‘O mestre manda dizer: O meu tempo está próximo, vou
celebrar a Páscoa em tua casa, junto com meus discípulos’”. 19Os discípulos fizeram como Jesus mandou e prepararam a Páscoa. 20Ao cair da tarde, Jesus pôs-se à mesa com os doze discípulos. 21Enquanto comiam, Jesus disse: “Em verdade eu vos digo, um de vós vai me trair”. 22Eles ficaram muito tristes e, um por um, começaram a lhe perguntar: “Senhor, será que sou eu?” 23Jesus respondeu: “Quem vai me trair é aquele que comigo põe a mão no prato. 24O
Filho do homem vai morrer, conforme diz a Escritura a respeito dele.
Contudo, ai daquele que trair o Filho do homem! Seria melhor que nunca
tivesse nascido!” 25Então Judas, o traidor, perguntou: “Mestre, serei eu?” Jesus lhe respondeu: “Tu o dizes”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclaiming
the Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Matthew - At that time, 14 one
of the twelve disciples, named Judas Iscariot, came to the high priests
and said, "What will you give me if I hand you Jesus?" They then
combined thirty pieces of silver. 16Thereafter Judas sought an opportunity to deliver Jesus. 17
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to
Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to prepare to eat the Passover?"
18 Jesus answered, "Go to the city and find a man and say to him, tell me, My time is near, I will celebrate the Passover at your house with my disciples. '" 19The disciples did as Jesus commanded and prepared the Passover. 20And it came to pass in the evening, that Jesus sat down with the twelve disciples. 21As they were eating, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me." 22They
became very sad, and one by one they began to ask him, "Lord, is it
that I am?" 23Jesus replied, "He who betrays me is the one who puts his
hand to me on the plate. 24The Son of man is going to die, as the Scripture says about him. But woe to him who betrays the Son of man! It
would be better if he had never been born! "25 Then Judas the betrayer
said," Master, will it be me? "Jesus answered him," You say so. " - Word of salvation.
Refletindo o Evangelho
Depois de Jesus, centro da narrativa, destaca-se Judas Iscariotes, ainda
que por motivo desonroso, a traição. Como se faz com imóveis, terrenos,
gado e utensílios de várias espécies, assim Jesus está sendo negociado
por uma soma irrelevante de trinta moedas. Vergonha para Judas, que
entrega seu mestre; vergonha para os sumos sacerdotes, que pagam pela
vítima que vão sacrificar. Enquanto Jesus celebra com seus discípulos a
Páscoa, festa da libertação, Judas trama sua captura. Jesus conhece e
controla a situação: é ele quem aponta o traidor. Aqui tem um nome, mas
pode se referir a qualquer pessoa que, em vez de escolher o projeto de
Jesus com suas consequências, escolhe o ídolo das riquezas. O tempo de
Jesus está próximo. É a hora da sua paixão, morte e ressurreição, ápice
da redenção.

Reflecting the Gospel
After Jesus, the center of the narrative, stands out Judas Iscariot, though for dishonorable reason, betrayal. As
is done with real estate, land, cattle, and utensils of various kinds,
so Jesus is being traded for an irrelevant sum of thirty coins. Shame on Judas, who surrenders his master; shame for the high priests, who pay for the victim they will sacrifice. As Jesus celebrates with his disciples the Passover, the feast of deliverance, Judas plot his capture. Jesus knows and controls the situation: it is he who points the traitor. Here
is a name, but it can refer to anyone who, instead of choosing the
design of Jesus with its consequences, chooses the idol of riches. Jesus' time is near. It is the hour of your passion, death and resurrection, the height of redemption.
