1a. Leitura - Romanos 15,14-21

Leitura da carta de são Paulo aos Romanos – ¹⁴ Meus irmãos, de minha parte, estou convencido, a vosso respeito, que vós tendes bastante bondade e ciência, de tal maneira que podeis admoestar-vos uns aos outros. ¹⁵ No entanto, em algumas passagens, eu vos escrevo com certa ousadia, como para reavivar a vossa memória, em razão da graça que Deus me deu. ¹⁶ Por esta graça eu fui feito ministro de Jesus Cristo entre os pagãos e consagrado servidor do evangelho de Deus, para que os pagãos se tornem uma oferenda bem aceite, santificada no Espírito Santo. ¹⁷ Tenho, pois, esta glória em Jesus Cristo no que se refere ao serviço de Deus: ¹⁸ não ouso falar senão daquilo que Cristo realizou por meu intermédio, para trazer os pagãos à obediência da fé, pela palavra e pela ação, ¹⁹ por sinais e prodígios, no poder do Espírito de Deus. Assim, eu preguei o evangelho de Cristo, desde Jerusalém e arredores até a Ilíria, ²⁰ tendo o cuidado de pregar somente onde Cristo ainda não fora anunciado, para não acontecer eu construir sobre alicerce alheio. ²¹ Agindo desta maneira, eu estou de acordo com o que está escrito: “Aqueles aos quais ele nunca fora anunciado verão; aqueles que não tinham ouvido falar dele compreenderão”. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - Romans 15,14-21
Reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Romans - 14 my brothers, for my part, I am convinced, about you, that you have enough goodness and science, in such a way that you may admonish one another. 15 However, in some passages, I write with a certain audacity, how to revive your memory, because of the grace that God gave me. 16 For this grace I was made Minister of Jesus Christ among the heathen and consecrated the Gospel of God, server for the pagans to become an offering accepted, sanctified in the Holy Spirit. 17 I have therefore this glory in Jesus Christ with regard to the service of God: 18 I dare not speak otherwise from what Christ has accomplished through me, to bring the Gentiles to the obedience of faith, by Word and by action, 19 by signs and wonders in the power of the spirit of God. Evangelho - Lucas 16,1-8

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – Naquele tempo, ¹ Jesus disse aos discípulos: “Um homem rico tinha um administrador que foi acusado de esbanjar os seus bens. ² Ele o chamou e lhe disse: ‘Que é isso que ouço a teu respeito? Presta contas da tua administração, pois já não podes mais administrar meus bens’. ³ O administrador então começou a refletir: ‘O senhor vai me tirar a administração. Que vou fazer? Para cavar, não tenho forças; de mendigar, tenho vergonha. ⁴ Ah! Já sei o que fazer, para que alguém me receba em sua casa quando eu for afastado da administração’. ⁵ Então ele chamou cada um dos que estavam devendo ao seu patrão. E perguntou ao primeiro: ‘Quanto deves ao meu patrão?’ ⁶ Ele respondeu: ‘Cem barris de óleo!’ O administrador disse: ‘Pega a tua conta, senta-te depressa e escreve cinquenta!’ ⁷ Depois ele perguntou a outro: ‘E tu, quanto deves?’ Ele respondeu: ‘Cem medidas de trigo’. O administrador disse: ‘Pega tua conta e escreve oitenta’. ⁸ E o senhor elogiou o administrador desonesto, porque ele agiu com esperteza. Com efeito, os filhos deste mundo são mais espertos em seus negócios do que os filhos da luz”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - John 2,13-22
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke-at that time, 1 Jesus told his disciples: "a man Rico was an administrator who was accused of wasting his possessions. 2 He called him and said to him: ' What is this I hear about you? Reports of your administration, since you can't manage my assets '. 3 the administrator then began to reflect: ' will you take me off the Board. What am I going to do? I know what to do, for someone to get in your House when I go away from the administration. 5 So he called every one of them that were owing your boss. And he asked the first, ' how much do you owe my master? ' 6 He answered: ' one hundred barrels of oil! ' The Administrator said, ' Take your Bill, sit down quickly and write 50! ' 7 After he asked another: ' and you, how much do you owe? ' He replied: ' a hundred measures of wheat. The Manager said: ' Take your account and write 80 '. 8 and the Lord commended the dishonest administrator, because he acted with wit. Indeed, the children of this world are smarter in their business than the children of light ". -The word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho  

Um administrador desonesto que age com esperteza. Sua desonestidade está no fato de esbanjar os bens do patrão (atitude de injustiça), e não propriamente na redução das dívidas. Tratava-se de uma comissão que lhe cabia por direito e que ele poderia usar como bem entendia. O que se elogia, em todo caso, não é a desonestidade, sempre abominável. O que se quer destacar é a sagacidade do administrador, em vista de não ficar na rua quando fosse despedido. Jesus adverte que os maus (filhos deste mundo) “são mais espertos no trato com sua gente do que os filhos da luz”. Uma parábola chocante, capaz de mexer com o brio de todo cristão. Dado que somos filhos da luz, precisamos administrar o tempo e os bens deste mundo na justa medida, conforme os valores do Reino.

Reflecting the Gospel 

A dishonest administrator who acts with cleverness. His dishonesty is squandering the assets of the employer (attitude of injustice), and not really in debt relief. Jesus warns that the bad guys (the sons of this world) "are smarter in dealing with your people than the children of light". A parable shocking, able to move with the brio of every Christian. Given that we are children of the light, we have to manage the time and the goods of this world in just measure, as the values of the Kingdom.
