Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 2,22-40 – 22Quando se completaram os dias para a purificação da mãe e do filho, conforme a Lei de Moisés, Maria e José levaram Jesus a Jerusalém, a fim de apresentá-lo ao Senhor, 23conforme está escrito na Lei do Senhor: “Todo primogênito do sexo masculino deve ser consagrado ao Senhor”. 24Foram também oferecer o sacrifício – um par de rolas ou dois pombinhos -, como está ordenado na Lei do Senhor. 25Em Jerusalém havia um homem chamado Simeão, o qual era justo e piedoso e esperava a consolação do povo de Israel. O Espírito Santo estava com ele 26e lhe havia anunciado que não morreria antes de ver o Messias que vem do Senhor. 27Movido pelo Espírito, Simeão veio ao templo. Quando os pais trouxeram o menino Jesus para cumprir o que a Lei ordenava, 28Simeão tomou o menino nos braços e bendisse a Deus: 29“Agora, Senhor, conforme a tua promessa, podes deixar teu servo partir em paz; 30porque meus olhos viram a tua salvação, 31que preparaste diante de todos os povos: 32luz para iluminar as nações e glória do teu povo Israel”. 33O pai e a mãe de Jesus estavam admirados com o que diziam a respeito dele. 34Simeão os abençoou e disse a Maria, a mãe de Jesus: “Este menino vai ser causa tanto de queda como de reerguimento para muitos em Israel. Ele será um sinal de contradição. 35Assim serão revelados os pensamentos de muitos corações. Quanto a ti, uma espada te traspassará a alma”. 36Havia também uma profetisa, chamada Ana, filha de Fanuel, da tribo de Aser. Era de idade muito avançada; quando jovem, tinha sido casada e vivera sete anos com o marido. 37Depois ficara viúva e agora já estava com oitenta e quatro anos. Não saía do templo, dia e noite servindo a Deus com jejuns e orações. 38Ana chegou nesse momento e pôs-se a louvar a Deus e a falar do menino a todos os que esperavam a libertação de Jerusalém. 39Depois de cumprirem tudo, conforme a Lei do Senhor, voltaram à Galileia, para Nazaré, sua cidade. 40O menino crescia e tornava-se forte, cheio de sabedoria; e a graça de Deus estava com ele. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 2,22-40 - 22When the days for the purification of the mother and child were completed, according to the Law of Moses, Mary and Joseph took Jesus to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord , 23as it is written in the Law of the Lord: "Every firstborn male must be consecrated to the Lord". 24They also offered the sacrifice - a pair of doves or two lovebirds - as required by the Law of the Lord. 25 In Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon, who was just and godly and awaited the comfort of the people of Israel. The Holy Spirit was with him 26and had announced to him that he would not die before seeing the Messiah who comes from the Lord. 27Moved by the Spirit, Simeon came to the temple. When the parents brought the baby Jesus to do what the Law ordered, 28Simeon took the baby in his arms and blessed God: 29 “Now, Lord, according to your promise, you can let your servant go in peace; 30for my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared before all peoples: 32light to illuminate the nations and glory of your people Israel ”. 33 Jesus' father and mother were amazed at what they said about him. 34Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, the mother of Jesus: “This boy will be a cause of both fall and uplift for many in Israel. It will be a sign of contradiction. 35Thus the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. As for you, a sword will pierce your soul ”. 36There was also a prophetess, named Ana, daughter of Fanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; as a young woman, she had been married and lived with her husband for seven years. 37Then she had become a widow and was now eighty-four years old. She did not leave the temple, day and night, serving God with fasting and prayers. 38Anna arrived at that moment and began to praise God and to speak of the boy to all who were waiting for the liberation of Jerusalem. 39 After completing everything, according to the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to Nazareth, their city. 40The boy grew and became strong, full of wisdom; and the grace of God was with him. - Word of salvation.

Ó Jesus, luz para iluminar as nações, em Jerusalém foste apresentado ao Senhor. Indizível alegria para Simeão, que esperava a “consolação de Israel”. Desafio para Tua Mãe, que, ao ser abençoada, ouviu de Simeão a profecia de que Tu serias “causa de queda e reerguimento de muitos em Israel”. Amém.
To Pray
O Jesus, light to illuminate the nations, in Jerusalem you were presented to the Lord. Unspeakable joy for Simeon, who was waiting for the “consolation of Israel”. Challenge to Your Mother, who, when blessed, heard from Simeon the prophecy that You would be "cause of the fall and uplift of many in Israel". Amen.
