Início do livro do Apocalipse de São João 1,1-4; 2,1-5 – 1Revelação que Deus confiou a Jesus Cristo, para que mostre aos seus servos as coisas que devem acontecer em breve. Jesus as deu a conhecer, através do seu anjo, ao seu servo João. 2Este dá testemunho de que tudo quanto viu é palavra de Deus e testemunho de Jesus Cristo. 3Feliz aquele que lê e aqueles que escutam as palavras desta profecia e também praticam o que nela está escrito. Pois o momento está chegando. 4João às sete Igrejas que estão na região da Ásia: A vós, graça e paz da parte daquele que é, que era e que vem; da parte dos sete espíritos que estão diante do trono de Deus. 2,1Ouvi o Senhor que me dizia: Escreve ao anjo da Igreja que está em Éfeso: Assim fala aquele que tem na mão direita as sete estrelas, aquele que está andando no meio dos sete candelabros de ouro: 2Conheço a tua conduta, o teu esforço e a tua perseverança. Sei que não suportas os maus. Colocaste à prova alguns que se diziam apóstolos e descobriste que não eram apóstolos, mas mentirosos. 3És perseverante. Sofreste por causa do meu nome e não desanimaste. 4Todavia, há uma coisa que eu reprovo: abandonaste o teu primeiro amor. 5Lembra-te de onde caíste! Converte-te e volta à tua prática inicial. Se, pelo contrário, não te converteres, virei depressa e arrancarei o teu candelabro do seu lugar. – Palavra do Senhor.

Beginning of the book of the Apocalypse of St. John 1,1-4; 2,1-5 - 1 Revelation that God has entrusted to Jesus Christ, to show his servants the things that must happen soon. Jesus made them known, through his angel, to his servant John. 2 He testifies that all he saw is the word of God and testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Happy are those who read and those who listen to the words of this prophecy and also practice what is written in it. For the moment is coming. 4 John to the seven Churches in the region of Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is, who was and who is coming; from the seven spirits who are before the throne of God. 2,1I heard the Lord who said to me: Write to the angel of the Church who is in Ephesus: Thus speaks the one who has the seven stars in his right hand, the one who is walking among the seven golden lampstands: 2I know your conduct, yours effort and your perseverance. I know you can't stand the bad guys. You tested some who called themselves apostles and found out that they were not apostles, but liars. You are persevering. You suffered because of my name and didn't get discouraged. 4 However, there is one thing I disapprove of: you have abandoned your first love. 5Remember where you fell! Convert and return to your initial practice. If, on the contrary, you do not convert, I will come quickly and remove your lampstand from its place. - Word of the Lord.

Ao vencedor concederei comer da árvore da vida!
1. Feliz é todo aquele que não anda / conforme os conselhos dos perversos; / que não entra no caminho dos malvados / nem junto aos zombadores vai sentar-se; / mas encontra seu prazer na lei de Deus / e a medita, dia e noite, sem cessar.
2. Eis que ele é semelhante a uma árvore / que à beira da torrente está plantada; / ela sempre dá seus frutos a seu tempo, † e jamais as suas folhas vão murchar. / Eis que tudo o que ele faz vai prosperar.
3. Mas bem outra é a sorte dos perversos. † Ao contrário, são iguais à palha seca / espalhada e dispersada pelo vento. / Pois Deus vigia o caminho dos eleitos, / mas a estrada dos malvados leva à morte.
Psalm 1
To the winner I will grant eating from the tree of life!
1. Happy is everyone who does not walk / according to the advice of the wicked; / who doesn't get in the way of the bad guys / nor will he sit next to the scoffers; / but finds his pleasure in the law of God / and meditates, day and night, without ceasing.
2. Behold, it is like a tree / which is planted at the edge of the torrent; / it always bears its fruits in time, † and its leaves will never wither. / Behold everything he does will prosper.
3. But quite another is the fate of the wicked. † On the contrary, they are the same as dry / scattered and wind-dispersed straw. / For God watches over the way of the elect, / but the road of the wicked leads to death.

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 18,35-43 – 35Quando Jesus se aproximava de Jericó, um cego estava sentado à beira do caminho, pedindo esmolas. 36Ouvindo a multidão passar, ele perguntou o que estava acontecendo. 37Disseram-lhe que Jesus nazareno estava passando por ali. 38Então o cego gritou: “Jesus, filho de Davi, tem piedade de mim!” 39As pessoas que iam na frente mandavam que ele ficasse calado. Mas ele gritava mais ainda: “Filho de Davi, tem piedade de mim!” 40Jesus parou e mandou que levassem o cego até ele. Quando o cego chegou perto, Jesus perguntou: 41“O que queres que eu faça por ti?” O cego respondeu: “Senhor, eu quero enxergar de novo”. 42Jesus disse: “Enxerga, pois, de novo. A tua fé te salvou”. 43No mesmo instante, o cego começou a ver de novo e seguia Jesus, glorificando a Deus. Vendo isso, todo o povo deu louvores a Deus. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 18,35-43 - 35When Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road, begging. 36Hearing the crowd pass, he asked what was going on. 37 They told him that Jesus Nazarene was passing by. 38Then the blind man shouted, "Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!" 39The people at the front told him to keep quiet. But he shouted even more: "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 40Jesus stopped and told them to take the blind man to him. When the blind man came near, Jesus asked: 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied, "Sir, I want to see again." 42Jesus said, “See then, again. Your faith has saved you ”. 43In the same instant, the blind man began to see again and followed Jesus, glorifying God. Seeing this, all the people gave praise to God. - Word of salvation.
Para refletir
O cego, que reconhece o Messias, contrasta com a cegueira mental dos apóstolos. De fato, o cego, sem ver, já reconhece o Filho de Davi (cf. Lc 1,32), ao passo que os discípulos (“os que iam à frente”) tentam impedir que o cego se aproxime do Mestre. Com fé e esperança, o cego expressa gritando seu anseio (v. 38). Sensível à dor alheia, Jesus pergunta ao cego: “O que deseja que eu faça por você?”, e lhe restitui a visão. Exultante, ele segue Jesus pelo caminho, e a multidão, atenta aos sinais de Deus em seu meio, “deu louvores a Deus”. Em nossa caminhada diária, com frequência encontramos pessoas que, em vez de reerguer-nos com palavras e gestos animadores, nos deixam sentados “à beira do caminho”!
To think about
The blind man, who recognizes the Messiah, contrasts with the mental blindness of the apostles. In fact, the blind man, without seeing, already recognizes the Son of David (cf. Lk 1,32), while the disciples ("those who went ahead") try to prevent the blind man from approaching the Master. With faith and hope, the blind man expresses his yearning (v. 38). Sensitive to the pain of others, Jesus asks the blind man: “What do you want me to do for you?”, And restores his vision. Glowing, he follows Jesus on the way, and the crowd, attentive to the signs of God in their midst, "gave praise to God". In our daily walk, we often meet people who, instead of lifting us up with encouraging words and gestures, leave us sitting “by the way”!
Para rezar
Ó Jesus de Nazaré, ao mendigo cego dás a possibilidade de “ver novamente”. Alegria geral. Diante desse fato maravilhoso, o povo dá louvores a Deus, e o que fora cego, exultante, se põe a Te seguir pelo caminho. Bendito sejas, Mestre, por iluminares nossas mentes e nossos passos. Amém.

O Jesus of Nazareth, to the blind beggar you give the possibility to “see again”. General joy. Faced with this wonderful fact, the people give praise to God, and the blind, exultant, set out to follow You along the way. Blessed are you, Master, for enlightening our minds and our steps. Amen.
