Leitura da carta de São Paulo aos Filipenses 3,3-8 – Irmãos, 3os verdadeiros circuncidados somos nós, que prestamos culto pelo Espírito de Deus, colocamos a nossa glória em Cristo Jesus e não pomos confiança na carne. 4Aliás, também eu poderia pôr minha confiança na carne. Pois, se algum outro pensa que pode confiar na carne, eu mais ainda. 5Fui circuncidado no oitavo dia, sou da raça de Israel, da tribo de Benjamim, hebreu filho de hebreus. Em relação à Lei, fariseu; 6pelo zelo, perseguidor da Igreja de Deus; quanto à justiça que vem da Lei, sempre irrepreensível. 7Mas essas coisas, que eram vantagens para mim, considerei-as como perda, por causa de Cristo. 8Na verdade, considero tudo como perda diante da vantagem suprema que consiste em conhecer a Cristo Jesus, meu Senhor. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading the letter from St. Paul to the Philippians 3,3-8 - Brothers, we are the real circumcised, we who worship by the Spirit of God, place our glory in Christ Jesus and do not put confidence in the flesh. 4I could also put my trust in the flesh. Rejoice the hearts of those who seek the Lord!

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 15,1-10 – Naquele tempo, 1os publicanos e pecadores aproximavam-se de Jesus para o escutar. 2Os fariseus, porém, e os mestres da Lei criticavam Jesus: “Este homem acolhe os pecadores e faz refeição com eles”. 3Então, Jesus contou-lhes esta parábola: 4“Se um de vós tem cem ovelhas e perde uma, não deixa as noventa e nove no deserto e vai atrás daquela que se perdeu, até encontrá-la? 5Quando a encontra, coloca-a nos ombros com alegria 6e, chegando a casa, reúne os amigos e vizinhos e diz: ‘Alegrai-vos comigo! Encontrei a minha ovelha que estava perdida!’ 7Eu vos digo, assim haverá no céu mais alegria por um só pecador que se converte do que por noventa e nove justos que não precisam de conversão. 8E se uma mulher tem dez moedas de prata e perde uma, não acende uma lâmpada, varre a casa e a procura cuidadosamente, até encontrá-la? 9Quando a encontra, reúne as amigas e vizinhas e diz: ‘Alegrai-vos comigo! Encontrei a moeda que tinha perdido!’ 10Por isso, eu vos digo, haverá alegria entre os anjos de Deus por um só pecador que se converte”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 15,1-10 - At that time, the publicans and sinners approached Jesus to listen to him. 2The Pharisees, however, and the teachers of the Law criticized Jesus: "This man welcomes sinners and has a meal with them." 3Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “If one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one, does he not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the one that was lost until he found it? 5When he finds her, he puts her on his shoulders with joy 6e, arriving home, gathers his friends and neighbors and says: 'Rejoice with me! I found my sheep that was lost! ’7I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven for one sinner who is converted than for ninety-nine righteous people who do not need conversion. 8And if a woman has ten silver coins and loses one, does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9When he finds her, he gathers his friends and neighbors and says: 'Rejoice with me! Para refletir
Duas atitudes opostas. Os pecadores e os fiscais da administração “se aproximavam para ouvir Jesus”. Esses eram desprezados pelos fariseus e doutores da Lei, que criticavam Jesus. As duas parábolas vêm revelar e apoiar o modo de Deus agir. O pastor procura com todo empenho a ovelha perdida. A dona de casa vasculha cuidadosamente todos os cômodos, ansiosa por achar a moeda desaparecida. O resgate da ovelha e a recuperação da moeda constituem motivos de muita alegria, partilhada com “amigos e vizinhos”. Verdadeira confraternização. Também aprendemos do Mestre: São os doentes que precisam de médicos, não os que têm saúde. Os que se consideram justos não entram no Reino de Deus, pois rejeitam Jesus. Os pecadores, ao invés, aproximam-se para ouvir Jesus, convertem-se e participam da festa do Reino.
To think about
Two opposite attitudes. The sinners and overseers of the administration “came to hear Jesus”. These were despised by the Pharisees and doctors of the Law, who criticized Jesus. The two parables reveal and support God's way of acting. The shepherd is looking for the lost sheep. The housewife carefully scans every room, anxious to find the missing coin. The rescue of the sheep and the recovery of the currency are reasons for great joy, shared with “friends and neighbors”. True fraternization. We also learned from Mestre: It is the sick who need doctors, not those who are healthy. Those who consider themselves righteous do not enter the Kingdom of God, because they reject Jesus. Sinners, instead, come to hear Jesus, convert and participate in the Kingdom feast.
Para rezar
Ó misericordioso Jesus, a todos acolhes com bondade, mas dás preferência aos pecadores que se convertem. Nas parábolas da misericórdia, salientas que o céu promove grande festa quando “um só pecador se converte”. Ajuda-nos, Senhor, a ser compreensivos com quem deseja retomar os caminhos de Deus. Amém.
To Pray
O merciful Jesus, welcome everyone with kindness, but give preference to sinners who are converted. In the parables of mercy, you emphasize that heaven promotes a great feast when “one sinner is converted”. Help us, Lord, to be understanding with those who wish to return to God's ways. Amen.
