Leitura da carta de São Paulo a Tito 2,1-8.11-14 – Caríssimo, 1o teu ensino seja conforme à sã doutrina. 2Os mais velhos sejam sóbrios, ponderados, prudentes, fortes na fé, na caridade, na paciência. 3Assim também as mulheres idosas observem uma conduta santa, não sejam caluniadoras nem escravas do vinho, mas mestras do bem. 4Saibam ensinar as jovens a amarem seus maridos, a cuidarem dos filhos, 5a serem prudentes, castas, boas donas de casa, dóceis para os maridos, bondosas, para que a palavra de Deus não seja difamada. 6Exorta igualmente os jovens a serem moderados 7e mostra-te em tudo exemplo de boas obras, de integridade na doutrina, de ponderação, 8de palavra sã e irrepreensível, para que os adversários se confundam, não tendo nada de mal para dizer de nós. 11Pois a graça de Deus se manifestou, trazendo salvação para todos os homens. 12Ela nos ensina a abandonar a impiedade e as paixões mundanas e a viver neste mundo com equilíbrio, justiça e piedade, 13aguardando a feliz esperança e a manifestação da glória do nosso grande Deus e salvador, Jesus Cristo. 14Ele se entregou por nós para nos resgatar de toda maldade e purificar para si um povo que lhe pertença e que se dedique a praticar o bem. – Palavra do Senhor.

1. Confia no Senhor e faze o bem, / e sobre a terra habitarás em segurança. / Coloca no Senhor tua alegria, / e ele dará o que pedir teu coração.
2. O Senhor cuida da vida dos honestos, / e sua herança permanece eternamente. / É o Senhor quem firma os passos dos mortais / e dirige o caminhar dos que lhe agradam.

The salvation of the righteous comes from God!

Para refletir
Na sociedade de todos os tempos, é comum a tendência a buscar o poder. Esse perigo ronda também a comunidade de Jesus. Certa vez, os apóstolos discutiam sobre quem dentre eles era o maior, o mais importante, aquele que ocuparia os primeiros lugares no Reino de Jesus. A correção chegou logo. Jesus os ensina a servir, e não a ser servidos. Somos servidores de Deus e dos irmãos e irmãs. Portanto, os títulos, na Igreja, não significam condecoração, prêmio ou indício de grandeza. Significam maior responsabilidade na condução do povo de Deus. Estamos a serviço do Reino, cujo único Senhor é Deus. Diante dele a posição mais correta é a de Maria: “Eis a serva do Senhor” (Lc 1,38). Não passamos de simples servos do Reino, pois “nossa capacidade provém de Deus” (2Cor 4,7).
To think about
In the society of all times, the tendency to seek power is common. This danger also surrounds the community of Jesus. Once, the apostles argued about who among them was the greatest, the most important, the one who would occupy the first places in the Kingdom of Jesus. The correction came soon. Jesus teaches them to serve, not to be served. We are servants of God and of brothers and sisters. Therefore, titles in the Church do not mean decoration, prize or indication of greatness. They mean greater responsibility in leading the people of God. We are in the service of the Kingdom, whose only Lord is God. Before him, the most correct position is that of Mary: “Here is the handmaid of the Lord” (Lk 1,38). We are nothing more than mere servants of the Kingdom, for “our capacity comes from God” (2 Cor 4,7).

Ó Mestre, no Teu Reino somos todos servidores, cada qual com os dons que recebeu e com as funções que exerce. Transforma-nos, Senhor, em pessoas disponíveis, generosas e empenhadas na construção do amor e da justiça, com a convicção de que sem ti nada podemos fazer. Amém.
