Leitura do livro de Jó 19,1.23-27 – 1Jó to­mou a palavra e disse: 23“Gostaria que minhas palavras fossem escritas e gravadas numa inscrição 24com ponteiro de ferro e com chumbo, cravadas na rocha para sempre! 25Eu sei que o meu redentor está vi­vo e que, por último, se levantará sobre o pó; 26e depois que tiverem destruído esta minha pele, na minha carne verei a Deus. 27Eu mesmo o verei, meus olhos o contemplarão, e não os olhos de outros”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading the Book of Job 19,1.23-27 - 1Job took the floor and said: 23 “I would like my words to be written and engraved on an inscription 24with lead and iron pointer, stuck in the rock forever! 25I know that my redeemer is alive and that, finally, he will rise on the dust; 26and after they have destroyed my skin, I will see God in my flesh. 27I will see him myself, my eyes will behold him, and not the eyes of others ”. - Word of the Lord.

Sei que a bondade do Senhor eu hei de ver / na terra dos viventes.

1. O Senhor é minha luz e salvação; / de quem eu terei medo? / O Senhor é a proteção da minha vida; / perante quem eu tremerei?

2. Ao Senhor eu peço apenas uma coisa, / e é só isto que eu desejo: / habitar no santuário do Senhor / por toda a minha vida; / saborear a suavidade do Senhor / e contemplá-lo no seu templo.

3. Ó Senhor, ouvi a voz do meu apelo, / atendei por compaixão! / É vossa face que eu procuro. † Não afas­teis em vossa ira o vosso servo, / sois vós o meu auxílio!

Psalm 26/27

I know that the goodness of the Lord I will see / in the land of the living.

1. The Lord is my light and salvation; / who am I afraid of? / The Lord is the protection of my life; / to whom will I tremble?

2. I ask the Lord for only one thing, / and that's all I want: / to dwell in the Lord's sanctuary / for all my life; / taste the softness of the Lord / and contemplate him in his temple.

3. O Lord, hear the voice of my call, / answer with compassion! / It is your face that I seek. † Do not turn your servant away in your anger, / you are my help!

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 6,37-40 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus às multidões: 37“Todos os que o Pai me confia virão a mim, e, quando vie­rem, não os afastarei. 38Pois eu desci do céu não para fazer a minha von­tade, mas a vontade daquele que me enviou. 39E esta é a vontade daquele que me enviou: que eu não perca nenhum daqueles que ele me deu, mas os ressuscite no último dia. 40Pois esta é a vontade do meu Pai: que toda pessoa que vê o Filho e nele crê tenha a vida eterna. E eu o ressuscitarei no último dia”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel 

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 6,37-40 - At that time Jesus said to the crowds: 37 “All those whom the Father entrusts to me will come to me, and when they come, I will not drive them away. 38For I came down from heaven not to do my will, but the will of him who sent me. 39And this is the will of him who sent me: that I should not lose any of those he gave me, but resurrect them on the last day. 40For this is my Father's will: that every person who sees the Son and believes in him has eternal life. And I will resurrect you on the last day ”. - Word of salvation.

Para refletir

Jesus pronuncia palavras de conforto e esperança. Não estamos abandonados, sozinhos, sem rumo, sem mestre, sem pastor. Jesus é o doador da vida; ele não rejeita ninguém, pois desceu do céu por nós: “Desci do céu, não para fazer a minha vontade, mas a vontade daquele que me enviou. E a vontade daquele que me enviou é que eu não perca nenhum dos que ele me deu”. Jesus e o Pai querem vida abundante para todos. Única e indispensável exigência de Jesus é que acreditemos nele. Acreditar não é simplesmente alimentar bons pensamentos ou dizer da boca para fora “eu creio”. A fé requer a prática das obras de justiça, fraternidade e misericórdia. Então, sim, poderemos ter a certeza da vida eterna: “Eu o ressuscitarei no último dia”. A salvação será completa com a ressurreição.

To think about 

Jesus utters words of comfort and hope. We are not abandoned, alone, aimlessly, without a teacher, without a pastor. Jesus is the giver of life; he does not reject anyone, because he came down from heaven for us: “I came down from heaven, not to do my will, but the will of him who sent me. And the will of the one who sent me is that I don't miss any of the ones he gave me ”. Jesus and the Father want abundant life for everyone. Jesus' only and indispensable requirement is that we believe in him. To believe is not simply to feed good thoughts or to say lip service "I believe". Faith requires the practice of works of justice, fraternity and mercy. So, yes, we can be sure of eternal life: "I will raise you up on the last day". Salvation will be complete with the resurrection.

Para rezar

Senhor Jesus, desceste do céu para fazer a vontade do Pai. E o desejo do Pai celeste é que ressuscites a todos os que te procuram de coração sincero. Confiantes e cheios de esperança, prosseguimos nossa jornada terrena, certos de que nos ressuscitarás no último dia. Amém.

To Pray

Lord Jesus, you came down from heaven to do the Father's will. And the Heavenly Father's desire is for you to resurrect all who seek you with a sincere heart. Confident and full of hope, we continue our earthly journey, certain that you will be resurrected on the last day. Amen.
