Take what's yours and come home!

Estranha a matemática que Jesus propõe nesta parábola? Acontece que a lógica do Reino dos Céus não segue a lógica da administração terrena. Os judeus pensam que o Reino pertence somente a eles; não compreendem o zelo de Jesus pelos publicanos e pecadores. Não compreendem a misericórdia divina. Por isso, arriscam a ser os últimos, enquanto os primeiros serão os que se abrem ao amor gratuito de Deus. Para Jesus, de fato, as portas do Reino estão sempre abertas para todos, já que todos são objeto do amor e da salvação. Nesse campo não há privilegiados. Não importa a raça, a nação, a idade, os títulos, as posses, o tempo de pertença. O que conta é a intensidade do compromisso com Cristo.

Strange the mathematics that Jesus proposes in this parable? It turns out that the logic of the Kingdom of Heaven does not follow the logic of earthly administration. The Jews think that the kingdom belongs only to them; They do not understand the zeal of Jesus by the publicans and sinners. They do not understand divine mercy. Therefore, they risk being the last, while the first will be those who open themselves to the free love of God. Leitura do livro dos Juízes 9,6-15 – Naquele tempo, 6todos os habitantes de Siquém e os de Bet-Melo se reuniram junto a um carvalho que havia em Siquém e proclamaram rei a Abimelec. 7Informado disso, Joatão foi postar-se no cume do monte Garizim e se pôs a gritar em alta voz, dizendo: “Ouvi-me, moradores de Siquém, e que Deus vos ouça. 8Certa vez, as árvores resolveram ungir um rei para reinar sobre elas e disseram à oliveira: ‘Reina sobre nós’. 9Mas ela respondeu: ‘Iria eu renunciar ao meu azeite, com que se honram os deuses e os homens, para me balançar acima das árvores?’ 10Então as árvores disseram à figueira: ‘Vem e reina sobre nós’. 11E ela lhes respondeu: ‘Iria eu renunciar à minha doçura e aos saborosos frutos, para me balançar acima das outras árvores?’ 12As árvores disseram então à videira: ‘Vem e reina sobre nós’. 13E ela lhes respondeu: ‘Iria eu renunciar ao meu vinho, que alegra os deuses e os homens, para me balançar acima das outras árvores?’ 14Por fim, todas as árvores disseram ao espinheiro: ‘Vem tu reinar sobre nós’. 15O espinheiro respondeu-lhes: ‘Se deveras me constituís vosso rei, vinde e repousai à minha sombra; mas se não o quereis, saia fogo do espinheiro e devore os cedros do Líbano!’” – Palavra do Senhor.

E eu vos pagarei o que for justo’. 5E eles foram. O patrão saiu de novo ao meio-dia e às três horas da tarde e fez a mesma coisa. 6Saindo outra vez pelas cinco horas da tarde, encontrou outros que estavam na praça e lhes disse: ‘Por que estais aí o dia inteiro desocupados?’ 7Eles responderam: ‘Porque ninguém nos contratou’. Não combinamos uma moeda de prata? 14Toma o que é teu e volta para casa! Eu quero dar a este que foi contratado por último o mesmo que dei a ti. 15Por acaso não tenho o direito de fazer o que quero com aquilo que me pertence? Ou estás com inveja, porque estou sendo bom?’ 16Assim, os últimos serão os primeiros, e os primeiros serão os últimos”. – Palavra da salvação.
