🇧🇷Reflexão 20/08/2019 🇺🇸Reflection

Os últimos serão os primeiros.
The last will be the first.

To what extent can wealth enslave a person? Not every rich man is reproved by God. There are some who have money and privileged situation, but at the same time share what they possess with the needy or with philanthropic institutions. Unhappy one who, instead of trusting in God, trusts the accumulated goods; Instead of helping the next needy, explore it. Thus, it ends up becoming self-sufficient in relation to God and closed in relation to the similar. Whoever assumes this attitude of spirit walks in the opposite direction of salvation. However, Divine Mercy also turns to him, for "For God everything is possible." Happy, however, those who are able to abandon everything to follow the Lord Jesus.

1a. Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the Book of Judges 6,11-24 – In those days, 11came the Angel of the Lord and sat under an oak that was in Efra and belonged to Joás, of the Abiezer family. Gideon, his son, was shaking and wiping the wheat in the tree, to hide it from the madianites, 12 when the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said: "The Lord is with thee, Valiant Warrior!" 13Gideon replied, "If the Lord is with us, I ask you, Lord, to tell me: Why did all this happen to us? Where are your wonders that our fathers told us, saying, ' The Lord has taken us out of Egypt '? But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the madianites. " 14Then The Lord turned to him and said, "Go and, with this strength you have, free Israel from the hand of the madianites. I'm sending you. " 15Gideon replied unto him, "Tell me, I ask thee, my lord, how can I liberate Israel? My family is the most humble of manassees, and I am the last in my father's house. " 16The Lord replied unto him, "I shall be with thee, and thou shalt defeat the madianites as if they were one man." 17And Gideon proceeded: "If I find it amusing before you, give me a sign that you speak to me. 18Don't walk away from here until I come back with an offering to introduce you. " And the Lord replied, "I shall stay here until you return." 19Gideon withdrew, prepared a goat and, with a measure of flour, made unleavened breads. He put the meat in a basket and the broth in a bowl, took everything under the oak and introduced him. 20Th The Angel of the Lord said to him, "Take the flesh and the unleavened bread, put them on this stone and pour over the broth." And Gideon did. 21The Angel of the Lord extended the tip of the rod he had in his hand and touched the flesh and the unleavened bread. Then arose a fire from the stone and consumed the meat and breads. And the Angel of the Lord vanished from his sight. 22Realizing that he was the angel of the Lord, Gideon Excried, "Woe unto me, Lord God, for I have seen the Angel of the Lord Face to face!" 23But The Lord said to him, "Peace be upon thee, be not afraid: Thou shalt not die!" 24 Then Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called him, "the Lord is peace." – Word of the Lord.

Salmo 84/85

Psalm 84/85
The Lord will announce peace to his people. – I want to hear what the Lord will say:/It is the peace he will announce; /Peace to your people and your friends,/to those who return to the Lord your heart. – Truth and Love will be found,/justice and peace will embrace; /The earth will sprout fidelity,/And justice will look from the high heavens. – The Lord will give us all that is good,/and our land will give us his crops; /justice will walk in front of you/and salvation will follow in your footsteps.

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.

Gospel
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Jesus Christ, our Lord,/although being rich, for us has become poor,/in order to enrich us through his poverty (2 Cor 8,9). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 19,23-30 – At that time, 23Jesus told his disciples: "Verily I say unto you, hardly a rich man shall enter the Kingdom of heaven. 24And I say yet, it is easier for a camel to enter through the hole of a needle than a rich man enters the kingdom of God. " 25Hearing This, the disciples were very amazed and asked, "So who can be saved?" 26Jesus looked at them and said: "For men this is impossible, but for God everything is possible." 27Peter took the word and said to Jesus, "See! We leave everything and follow you. What will we receive? " 28Jesus replied: "Verily I say unto you, when the world is renewed and the son of Man sits on the throne of his glory, you too, who follow me, ye shall sit in twelve thrones, to judge the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And Whosoever has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, children, fields, for the sake of my name, shall receive a hundred times more and inherit eternal life. 30Many who are now the first will be the last. And many who are now the last will be the first. " – Word of salvation.
