Quem é o maior no reino dos céus?
Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?
Jesus mostra quem tem maior valor diante de Deus. Aponta uma criança. Os pequenos constituem justamente o centro de atenção de Jesus, tanto que seu Reino é constituído por pessoas assim. Não aconteça que a comunidade cristã escandalize ou trate mal os que vão dando os primeiros passos na fé! O Pai do Céu, em sintonia com a escolha de Jesus, tem os olhos voltados para esses pequenos. E no céu haverá festa quando um filho ou filha abandonar o mau caminho e de novo voltar a fazer parte da família de Deus.

Jesus shows who has the greatest value before God. Point a child. The small are precisely the center of attention of Jesus, so much so that his kingdom is constituted by people like that. It does not happen that the Christian community scandalizes or treats those who are taking the first steps in faith! The heavenly Father, in harmony with the choice of Jesus, has his eyes on these little ones. And in heaven there will be a feast when a son or daughter forsake the wicked path and again be part of the family of God.

Leitura do livro do Deuteronômio 31,1-8 – 1Moisés dirigiu-se a todo Israel com as seguintes palavras: 2“Tenho hoje cento e vinte anos e já não posso deslocar-me. Além do mais, o Senhor me disse: ‘Não atravessarás este rio Jordão’. 3É o Senhor teu Deus que irá à tua frente; ele mesmo, à tua vista, destruirá todas essas nações, para que ocupes suas terras. Josué passará adiante de ti, como disse o Senhor. 4E o Senhor fará com esses povos o que fez com Seon e Og, reis dos amorreus, e com suas terras, que ele destruiu. 5Quando, pois, o Senhor os entregar a vós, fareis com eles exatamente o que vos ordenei. 6Sede fortes e valentes; não vos intimideis nem tenhais medo deles, pois o Senhor teu Deus é ele mesmo o teu guia, e não te deixará nem te abandonará”. 7Depois Moisés chamou Josué e, diante de todo Israel, lhe disse: “Sê forte e corajoso, pois és tu que introduzirás este povo na terra que o Senhor, sob juramento, prometeu dar a seus pais, e és tu que lhe darás a posse dela. 8O Senhor, que é o teu guia, marchará à tua frente, estará contigo e não te deixará nem te abandonará. Reading the Book of Deuteronomy 31,1-8 – 1Moses addressed all of Israel with the following words: 2 "I am now 120 years old and I can no longer move. Moreover, the Lord said to me: ' Thou shalt not cross this river Jordan. ' 3It Is The Lord thy God who will go before you; He himself, in your sight, will destroy all these nations, to occupy his lands. Se um homem tem cem ovelhas e uma delas se perde, não deixa ele as noventa e nove nas montanhas para procurar aquela que se perdeu? 13Em verdade vos digo, se ele a encontrar, ficará mais feliz com ela do que com as noventa e nove que não se perderam. 14Do mesmo modo, o Pai que está nos céus não deseja que se perca nenhum desses pequeninos”. – Palavra da salvação.
