"Lucas 11,1-4 - Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – ¹Um dia, Jesus estava rezando num certo lugar. Quando terminou, um de seus discípulos pediu-lhe: “Senhor, ensina-nos a rezar, como também João ensinou a seus discípulos”. ²Jesus respondeu: “Quando rezardes, dizei: ‘Pai, santificado seja o teu nome. Venha o teu reino. ³Dá-nos a cada dia o pão de que precisamos ⁴e perdoa-nos os nossos pecados, pois nós também perdoamos a todos os nossos devedores; e não nos deixes cair em tentação’”. – Palavra da salvação."

Refletindo o Evangelho

"Por conhecer o espírito de oração de Jesus, um de seus discípulos expressa-lhe o desejo de aprender a rezar. Com isso, somos agracia-dos com a Oração do Senhor, o Pai-nosso. A primeira palavra é “Pai”, termo simples que exprime a relação de Jesus com Deus. (cf. Lc 2,49; 10,21; 22,42; 23,46 e 24,49). Então o discípulo, à semelhança do Mestre, pode reconhecer e invocar a Deus como doador da vida e cheio de misericórdia. A seguir, os dois primeiros pedidos voltam-se para os interesses do Pai: o nome e o reino; os três últimos se relacionam com as necessidades do ser humano: o pão, o perdão e a fidelidade a Deus. É a oração da solidariedade, característica de toda oração cristã: pão nosso, nossos pecados, nossos devedores."

Reflecting the Gospel

"By knowing the spirit of prayer of Jesus, one of his disciples expresses the desire to learn to pray. With this, we are graced with the Lord's Prayer, our Father. The first word is "Father," a simple term that expresses Jesus' relationship with God. (cf. Lk 2.49, 10.21, 22.42, 23.46 and 24.49). Then the disciple, in the likeness of the Master, can recognize and invoke God as a giver of life and full of mercy. Next, the first two requests turn to the interests of the Father: the name and the kingdom; the last three relate to the needs of the human being: bread, forgiveness and fidelity to God. It is the prayer of solidarity, characteristic of all Christian prayer: our bread, our sins, our debtors."
