Reflexão
Não é comum fazer um gesto de bondade ao sofrer uma agressão e sim o contrário: violência gerando violência. Jesus vem com exigências desconcertantes. Ao mal se responde com o bem; em vez de vingança, a benevolência. É o único caminho para eliminar a espiral de violência vigente em nossos relacionamentos. A valorização do outro elimina o desprezo; o abraço acolhedor vence o preconceito. Cria-se um clima de fraternidade, harmonia e paz, que ultrapassa nossa boa convivência em família e beneficia a sociedade inteira.
Reflection
It is not common to make a gesture of kindness when suffering aggression, but the opposite: violence generating violence. Jesus comes with bewildering demands. Evil is answered with good; instead of revenge, benevolence. It is the only way to eliminate the spiral of violence in our relationships. Valuing the other eliminates contempt; the welcoming embrace overcomes prejudice. A climate of fraternity, harmony and peace is created, which goes beyond our good family life and benefits the entire society.
