Jesus, “filho de Davi”.

Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia. Quem me ama, realmente, guardará minha palavra e meu Pai o amará e a ele nós viremos (Jo 14,23). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos 12,35-37 – Naquele tempo, 35Jesus ensinava no templo, dizendo: “Como é que os mestres da lei dizem que o Messias é filho de Davi? 36O próprio Davi, movido pelo Espírito Santo, falou: ‘Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor: senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos debaixo dos teus pés’. 37Portanto, o próprio Davi chama o Messias de Senhor. Como é que ele pode então ser seu filho?” E uma grande multidão o escutava com prazer. – Palavra da salvação.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. Whoever loves me will really keep my word and my Father will love him and we will come to him (Jn 14:23). - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 12: 35-37 - At that time, 35Jesus taught in the temple, saying: “How do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David? 36David himself, moved by the Holy Spirit, said: 'The Lord said to my Lord: sit at my right, until I put your enemies under your feet'. 37Therefore, David himself calls the Messiah Lord. How can he then be your son? ” And a large crowd listened to him with pleasure. - Word of salvation.

Reflexão

Jesus, “filho de Davi” dava a entender que ele haveria de restaurar o sistema de monarquia e expulsar, por meio da força, os ocupantes estrangeiros. Jesus corrige essa doutrina com palavras atribuídas ao próprio Davi (Salmo 110,1) pronunciadas sob inspiração do Espírito Santo. Jesus é superior a Davi em dignidade  e seu reino será muito mais vasto que o de Davi (“não terá fim”). O messianismo de Jesus não é o da violência contra o povo, mas é o da entrega da própria vida em benefício de todos. Desse modo, é necessário compreender Jesus e acompanhá-lo até a cruz

Reflection
Jesus, “son of David”, implied that he would restore the monarchy system and expel, by force, foreign occupiers. Jesus corrects this doctrine with words attributed to David himself (Psalm 110.1) pronounced under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is superior to David in dignity and his kingdom will be much wider than David's (“it will have no end”). Jesus' messianism is not that of violence against the people, but that of giving one's life for the benefit of all. Thus, it is necessary to understand Jesus and accompany him to the cross.
