1a.Leitura - Gênesis 16,1-12.15-16

Leitura do livro do Gênesis – ¹ Sarai, a mulher de Abrão, não lhe dera filhos. Mas, tendo uma escrava egípcia, chamada Agar, ² Sarai disse a Abrão: “Eis que o Senhor me fez estéril. Une-te, pois, à minha escrava para ver se, por ela, posso ter filhos”. Abrão atendeu ao pedido de Sarai. ³ Depois de Abrão ter morado dez anos em Canaã, Sarai, sua esposa, tomou sua escrava egípcia, Agar, e deu-a como mulher ao seu marido, Abrão. ⁴ Abrão uniu-se a Agar e ela concebeu. Percebendo-se grávida, começou a olhar com desprezo a sua senhora. ⁵ Sarai disse a Abrão: “Tu és responsável pela injúria que estou sofrendo. Fui eu mesma que coloquei minha escrava em teus braços, e ela, apenas ficou grávida, pôs-se a desprezar-me. O Senhor será juiz entre mim e ti”. ⁶ Abrão respondeu a Sarai: “Olha, a escrava é tua; faze dela o que bem entenderes”. E Sarai maltratou-a tanto, que ela fugiu. ⁷ Um anjo do Senhor, encontrando-a junto à fonte do deserto, no caminho de Sur, disse-lhe: ⁸ “Agar, escrava de Sarai, de onde vens e para onde vais?” Ela respondeu: “Estou fugindo de Sarai, minha senhora”. ⁹ E o anjo do Senhor lhe disse: “Volta para a tua senhora e sê submissa a ela”. ¹⁰ E acrescentou: “Multiplicarei a tua descendência de tal forma, que não se poderá contar”. ¹¹ Disse, ainda, o anjo do Senhor: “Olha, estás grávida e darás à luz um filho e o chamarás Ismael, porque o Senhor te ouviu na tua aflição. ¹² Ele será indomável como um jumento selvagem, sua mão se levantará contra todos, e a mão de todos contra ele. E ele viverá separado de todos os seus irmãos”. ¹⁵ Agar deu à luz o filho de Abrão; e ele pôs o nome de Ismael ao filho que Agar lhe deu. ¹⁶ Abrão tinha oitenta e seis anos quando Agar deu à luz Ismael. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - Gênesis 16,1-12.15-16

She replied: "I'm running away from Sarai, Ma'am". 9 and the Angel of the Lord said to him: "go back to your mistress and be submissive to her." 10 and added: "I will multiply thy seed so that it will not be possible to count". 11 Said the Angel of the Lord: "Look, you're pregnant in your womb and bring forth a son, and shall call Ishmael, because the Lord heard you in your grief. 12 He will be unstoppable as a wild donkey, your hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him. And he will live separated from all his brethren ". 15 Hagar gave birth to the son of Abram; and he put the name of Ishmael the son to Hagar gave him. 16 Abram was 86 years old when Hagar bore Ishmael. -The word of the Lord.

Evangelho - Mateus 7,21-29

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: ²¹ “Nem todo aquele que me diz: ‘Senhor, Senhor’ entrará no reino dos céus, mas o que põe em prática a vontade de meu Pai que está nos céus. ²² Naquele dia, muitos vão me dizer: ‘Senhor, Senhor, não foi em teu nome que profetizamos? Não foi em teu nome que expulsamos demônios? E não foi em teu nome que fizemos muitos milagres?’ ²³ Então eu lhes direi publicamente: jamais vos conheci. Afastai-vos de mim, vós que praticais o mal. ²⁴ Portanto, quem ouve estas minhas palavras e as põe em prática é como um homem prudente, que construiu sua casa sobre a rocha. ²⁵ Caiu a chuva, vieram as enchentes, os ventos deram contra a casa, mas a casa não caiu, porque estava construída sobre a rocha. ²⁶ Por outro lado, quem ouve estas minhas palavras e não as põe em prática é como um homem sem juízo, que construiu sua casa sobre a areia. ²⁷ Caiu a chuva, vieram as enchentes, os ventos sopraram e deram contra a casa, e a casa caiu, e sua ruína foi completa!” ²⁸ Quando Jesus acabou de dizer essas palavras, as multidões ficaram admiradas com seu ensinamento. ²⁹ De fato, ele as ensinava como quem tem autoridade e não como os mestres da lei. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Mateus 7,21-29

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew – at that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 21 "Not everyone who says to me, ' Lord, Lord ' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but to put into practice the will of my father who is in heaven. 22 on that day many will say to me, ' Lord, Lord, not in your name that prophesied? Refletindo o Evangelho  

Na conclusão do Sermão da Montanha, Jesus nos estimula a pôr em prática todos os seus ensinamentos e deixa claro que o autêntico herdeiro do Reino é quem cumpre a vontade de Deus. O voto de aprovação depende das obras boas realizadas para a glória de Deus e o bem do próximo. Outros sinais, mesmo extraordinários e sob invocação do nome do Senhor, se não forem acompanhados da sinceridade de coração, mas realizados por motivos desonestos, serão reprovados “naquele dia”, momento de prestar contas. Não basta ficar só rezando e repetindo o nome de Deus sem arregaçar as mangas e partir para a prática da justiça. Quem fizer a vontade do Pai celeste, revelada por Jesus nos evangelhos, esse estará edificando sua vida sobre a rocha inabalável, que é o próprio Cristo.

Reflecting the Gospel

Dai graças ao Senhor, porque ele é bom, porque eterna é a sua misericórdia! Quem contará os grandes feitos do Senhor? Quem cantará todo o louvor que ele merece? Felizes os que guardam seus preceitos e praticam a justiça em todo tempo! Lembrai-vos, ó Senhor, de mim, lembrai-vos, pelo amor que demonstrais ao vosso povo! Visitai-me com a vossa salvação, para que eu veja o bem-estar do vosso povo, e exulte na alegria dos eleitos, e me glorie com os que são vossa herança.  (Salmo 105/106).
