Levanta-te e vai! Tua fé te salvou.

Get up and go! Your faith saved you.

Considerada contagiosa, a lepra mantinha seus portadores afastados do convívio humano. Ora, os dez leprosos mantêm- se à distância e pedem a compaixão de Jesus, que exige deles um ato de fé: sem ainda serem curados, que se apresentem aos sacerdotes; estes comprovarão a veracidade da cura. No caminho, os dez se veem purificados da doença, mas apenas um retorna “glorificando a Deus”, e o faz “em alta voz”, a fim de que todos participem da sua alegria e se conscientizem do poder de Deus. Era um samaritano. Prostra-se, confirmando sua fé em Jesus. E os outros nove? Deixam de ouvir dos lábios do Mestre o coroamento da cura: “Levante-se e vá! Sua fé o salvou”.

Considered contagious, leprosy kept its carriers away from human conviviality. Now, the ten lepers remain at a distance and ask for the compassion of Jesus, who demands an act of faith from them: without yet being healed, to present themselves to priests; these will prove the veracity of healing. On the way, the ten find themselves purified from the disease, but only one returns "glorifying God", and does so "aloud", so that everyone may participate in his joy and become aware of The Power of God. He was a Samaritan. Prostrate yourself, confirming your faith in Jesus. What about the other nine? Stop hearing from the Master's lips the crowning of the cure: "Stand up and go! His faith saved him."

Leitura do livro da Sabedoria 6,1-11 – 1Escutai, ó reis, e compreendei. Instruí-vos, governadores dos confins da terra! 2Prestai atenção, vós que dominais as multidões e vos orgulhais do número de vossos súditos. 3Pois o poder vos foi dado pelo Senhor, e a soberania, pelo Altíssimo. É ele quem examinará as vossas obras e sondará as vossas intenções; 4apesar de estardes ao serviço do seu reino, não julgastes com retidão, nem observastes a lei, nem procedestes conforme a vontade de Deus. 5Por isso, ele cairá de repente sobre vós, de modo terrível, porque um julgamento implacável será feito sobre os poderosos. 6O pequeno pode ser perdoado por misericórdia, mas os poderosos serão examinados com poder. 7O Senhor de todos não recuará diante de ninguém nem se deixará impressionar pela grandeza, porque o pequeno e o grande, foi ele quem os fez, e a sua providência é a mesma para com todos; 8mas, para os poderosos, o julgamento será severo. 9A vós, pois, governantes, dirigem-se as minhas palavras, para que aprendais a sabedoria e não venhais a tropeçar. 10Os que observam fielmente as coisas santas serão justificados; e os que as aprenderem vão encontrar sua defesa. 11Portanto, desejai ardentemente minhas palavras, amai-as e sereis instruídos. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading the book of Wisdom 6,1-11 – 1Listen, O kings, and understand. Instruct ed yourselves, governors of the ends of the earth! 2 Pay attention, you who dominate the multitudes and pride yourselves on the number of your subjects. 3 For the power was given unto you by the Lord, and sovereignty, by the Most High. It is he who will examine your works and probe your intentions; 4 though you are at the service of his kingdom, you have not judged with righteousness, nor have you observed the law, nor did you proceed according to God's will. 5 Therefore, he will suddenly fall upon you in a terrible way, for a relentless judgment will be made upon the powerful. 6The little one can be forgiven for mercy, but the powerful will be examined with power. 7 The Lord of all shall not retreat before no one or be impressed by greatness, for the little and the great, it was he who made them, and his providence is the same for all; 8mas, for the powerful, the judgment will be severe. 9A ye, for ye, rulers, turn my words, that ye may learn wisdom and do not stumble. 10 Those who faithfully observe holy things will be justified; and those who learn them will find their defense. 11 Wherefore, i ardently desire my words, love them, and you will be instructed. Pararam a distância 13e gritaram: “Jesus, mestre, tem compaixão de nós!” 14Ao vê-los, Jesus disse: “Ide apresentar-vos aos sacerdotes”. Enquanto caminhavam, aconteceu que ficaram curados. 15Um deles, ao perceber que estava curado, voltou glorificando a Deus em alta voz; 16atirou-se aos pés de Jesus com o rosto por terra e lhe agradeceu. E este era um samaritano. 17Então Jesus lhe perguntou: “Não foram dez os curados?
