Feliz aquele que come o pão no reino de Deus!
Happy he who eats bread in the kingdom of God!

O banquete é o Reino. O convite ao banquete é o convite à prática da justiça. Os convidados são os fariseus, arrumam desculpas ou buscam outros interesses e desconsideram a mensagem e as obras de Jesus. O dono se decepciona, mas não cancela o banquete. Convida, então os que moram na cidade: pobres, aleijados, cegos, coxos, desempregados. Depois, visto que ainda há lugar, convida os que estão fora da cidade, isto é, todos os estrangeiros, em todos os tempos e lugares do mundo. Deus oferece os seus dons a todos.

The banquet is the Kingdom. The invitation to the banquet is the invitation to practice justice. The guests are the Pharisees, make excuses or seek other interests and disregard the message and works of Jesus. The owner is disappointed, but does not cancel the banquet. It then invites those who live in the city: poor, crippled, blind, lame, unemployed. Then, since there is still a place, it invites those outside the city, that is, all foreigners, in all times and places of the world. God offers his gifts to all.

Leitura da carta de são Paulo aos Romanos 12,5-16 – Irmãos, 5nós, embora muitos, somos em Cristo um só corpo e todos membros uns dos outros. 6Temos dons diferentes, de acordo com a graça dada a cada um de nós: se é a profecia, exerçamo-la em harmonia com a fé; 7se é o serviço, pratiquemos o serviço; se é o dom de ensinar, consagremo-nos ao ensino; 8se é o dom de exortar, exortemos. Quem distribui donativos, faça-o com simplicidade; quem preside, presida com solicitude; quem se dedica a obras de misericórdia, faça-o com alegria. 9O amor seja sincero. Reading of St Paul's letter to the Romans 12,5-16 – Brothers, 5knots, though many, are in Christ one body and all members of each other. 6We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us: if it is prophecy, we exercise it in harmony with faith; 7se is the service, we practice the service; if it is the gift of teaching, we consecrate ourselves to teaching; 8se is the gift of exhorting, let us exorse. Who distributes donations, do so with simplicity; who presides, presides with concern; who is dedicated to works of mercy, do so with joy. 9Love be sincere. Guardai-me, em paz, junto a vós, ó Senhor! O primeiro disse: ‘Comprei um campo e preciso ir vê-lo. Peço-te que aceites minhas desculpas’. 19Um outro disse: ‘Comprei cinco juntas de bois e vou experimentá-las. Peço-te que aceites minhas desculpas’. 20Um terceiro disse: ‘Acabo de me casar e, por isso, não posso ir’. 21O empregado voltou e contou tudo ao patrão. Então o dono da casa ficou muito zangado e disse ao empregado: ‘Sai depressa pelas praças e ruas da cidade. Traze para cá os pobres, os aleijados, os cegos e os coxos’. 22O empregado disse: ‘Senhor, o que tu mandaste fazer foi feito e ainda há lugar’. 23O patrão disse ao empregado: ‘Sai pelas estradas e atalhos e obriga as pessoas a virem aqui, para que minha casa fique cheia. 24Pois eu vos digo, nenhum daqueles que foram convidados provará do meu banquete’”. – Palavra da salvação.

The first said, 'I bought a field and I need to go see it. I ask you to accept my apologies.' 19Another said, 'I bought five oxen joints and I'll try them out. I ask you to accept my apologies.' 20A third said, 'I just got married, so I can't go.' 21The employee came back and told the boss everything. Then the owner of the house was very angry and told the waiter: 'Get out quickly through the squares and streets of the city.
