Jesus cura o homem hidrópico.
Jesus heals the hydropic man.

O homem hidrópico (cheio de água) foi curado por Jesus no sábado. Apesar da severa proibição contida no repouso sabático, é nesse dia que Jesus liberta o doente da sua enfermidade (hidropisia). Toda instituição tende a subjugar as pessoas, impondo leis e mais leis. Para Jesus, no entanto, tudo tem de se pôr a serviço da pessoa. A vida humana está acima de qualquer outra coisa, até mesmo da instituição mais sagrada, que é o sábado.

The hydropic man (full of water) was healed by Jesus on The Sabbath. Despite the severe prohibition contained in sabbatical rest, it is on this day that Jesus frees the patient from his illness (hydrops). Every institution tends to subdue people by imposing laws and more laws. For Jesus, however, everything has to be put in the service of the person. Human life is above anything else, even the most sacred institution, which is the Sabbath.

E eles o observavam. 2Diante de Jesus, havia um hidrópico. 3Tomando a palavra, Jesus falou aos mestres da lei e aos fariseus: “A lei permite curar em dia de sábado ou não?” 4Mas eles ficaram em silêncio. Então Jesus tomou o homem pela mão, curou-o e despediu-o. 5Depois lhes disse: “Se algum de vós tem um filho ou um boi que caiu num poço, não o tira logo, mesmo em dia de sábado?” 6E eles não foram capazes de responder a isso. – Palavra da salvação.
