Nas listas dos Apóstolos, Simão, conhecido também como “o cananeu”, aparece sempre ao lado de Judas Tadeu. Sobre sua vida posterior nada se sabe. Quanto a Judas, não o Iscariotes, foi-lhe atribuída a paternidade de uma das Cartas chamadas “católicas”, isto é, endereçadas não a uma só pessoa ou a uma comunidade determinada, mas a grande número de destinatários. Essa Carta contendo apenas 25 versículos previne os fiéis contra os falsos mestres e convida todos a perseverar na fé autêntica. Não obstante a escassez de dados seguros sobre sua missão, São Judas conta hoje com uma multidão de devotos que acorrem aos santuários erigidos em sua honra.

On the lists of the Apostles, Simon, also known as "the Canaaneu", always appears next to Judas Tadeu. About your later life, nothing is known. And he spent all night in prayer to God. 13 At dawn, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, to whom he gave the name of apostles: 14Simon, to whom he imposed the name of Peter, and his brother Andrew; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; 15Matthew and Thomas; James, son of Alfeu, and Simon, called Zelota; 16Judas, son of James, and Judas Iscariot, the one who became a traitor. 17Jesus came down from the mountain with them and stopped in a flat place.
