Jesus's words and works do not find a welcome in some of his countrymen, especially of the people's leaders. Then he is challenged to exhibit some spectacular prodigy, able to convince them that he is truly the son of God. Jesus classifies this generation as evil, that is, afscrewed to an institution that does not give up privileges, which does not accept the proposal settled in the practice of justice and fraternity. It is a generation so averse to the presence and message of Jesus, who on the day of Judgment will be condemned. Not by Jesus, but by those who have become the preaching of Solomon and Jonah. Here is someone (Jesus) who is greater than Solomon and Jonah.

The Lord made him know salvation. – Sing to the Lord God a new corner,/because he has done wonders! /His hand and his strong and holy arm/achieved his victory. – The Lord has made known the salvation/and, to the nations, his righteousness; /remembered his love always faithful/by the House of Israel. – The ends of the universe contemed/The salvation of our God. /Hail the Lord God, O whole Earth,/rejoice and Exult!
