🇧🇷 Reflexão 24/06/2019 🇺🇸 Reflection

Natividade de João Batista.
Nativity of John the Baptist.

On the solemnity of the Nativity of John the Baptist, the Gospel brings us the account of the birth of the forerunner, which has many traits in common with that of Jesus ' birth. The birth of John is a blessing for parents, already elderly and Isabel, sterile. Today St. John is celebrated with much celebration and joy for the Brazilian people. The name John, proposed by the mother and confirmed by the father, means "God is mercy." With the arrival of John, God confirms his mercy and the hope of the people. John grows and strengthens himself in the spirit of the Lord and, in the wilderness, prepares to take up his mission, which was to prepare the people for the arrival of Jesus. Open the path to the master.

1a. Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the book of the prophet Isaiah 49,1-6 – 1Marine Nations, I heard; Distant peoples, pay attention: The Lord called me before I was born, from the womb of my mother he had in his mind my name; 2he made my word a sharp sword, protected me in the shadow of his hand and made me a keen arrow, hidden in his aljava, 3e said to me: "Thou art my servant, Israel, in whom I shall be glorified." 4And I said: "I have worked in vain, I have spent my strength without fruit, unnecessarily; But the Lord will do me justice, and my God will give me reward. " 5E now tells me the Lord – he who has prepared me from birth to be his servant – that I will reclaim Jacob for him and make Israel unite with him; In the eyes of the Lord, this is my glory. 6 He Said, "it is not enough to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and to relead the remnants of Israel: I will make you light of the nations, that my salvation shall reach the ends of the earth." – Word of the Lord.

Salmo 138/139

Psalm 138/139
I praise you and I give Thanks, O Lord,/because in an admirable way you have formed me!
– Lord, you Dream me and Know me," † Thou knowest when I sit or rise; /By far penetrais my thoughts; /perceitful when I lay down and when I am,/my paths are all known to you. "You have been the bowels of me," and in my mother's bosom you have woven me. /I praise you and give Thanks, O Lord,/because in an admirable way you have formed me!
– Even the most intimate, Lord, you know me; /Nor even one of my ignorable fibers/When I was modeled ocularly,/was formed in the underground bowels.

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.
