Dei-lhes as palavras que tu me deste.

I gave them the words you gave me.

Jesus ora e dá glória ao Pai, cumprindo na terra a tarefa que lhe foi confiada. Dar glória é manifestar o poder de Deus e seu infinito amor pela humanidade. Jesus está consciente de ter cumprido integralmente a vontade do Pai. A todos abriu as portas da vida eterna, que consiste em conhecer a ele, Jesus, e ao Pai. Jesus se alegra porque as palavras do Pai foram acolhidas e os apóstolos acreditaram que Jesus é o enviado do Pai. A oração de Jesus pede o olhar benévolo do Pai sobre todos os fiéis presentes e futuros. Eles permanecem no campo de missão, sujeitos a muitas adversidades, mas poderão contar com a perene presença de Jesus que, terminada sua missão terrena, volta para o Pai.

Jesus prays and gives glory to the father, fulfilling on the Earth the task entrusted to him. To give Glory is to manifest the power of God and his infinite love for mankind. Jesus is conscious of having fulfilled the will of the father in full. Everyone has opened the doors of eternal life, which consists in knowing him, Jesus, and the father. Jesus rejoices because the words of the father were welcomed and the Apostles believed that Jesus is the father's envoy. Jesus ' prayer asks the Father's benevolent gaze upon all the faithful present and future. They remain in the field of mission, subject to many adversities, but they can count on the perennial presence of Jesus who, after his earthly mission, returned to the father.

Leitura dos Atos dos Apóstolos 20,17-27 – Naqueles dias, 17de Mileto, Paulo mandou um recado a Éfeso, convocando os anciãos da Igreja. 18Quando os anciãos chegaram, Paulo disse-lhes: “Vós bem sabeis de que modo me comportei em relação a vós durante todo o tempo, desde o primeiro dia em que cheguei à Ásia. 19Servi ao Senhor com toda a humildade, com lágrimas e no meio das provações que sofri por causa das ciladas dos judeus. 20Nunca deixei de anunciar aquilo que pudesse ser de proveito para vós nem de vos ensinar publicamente e também de casa em casa. 21Insisti com judeus e gregos para que se convertessem a Deus e acreditassem em Jesus, nosso Senhor. 22E agora, prisioneiro do Espírito, vou para Jerusalém sem saber o que aí me acontecerá. 23Sei apenas que, de cidade em cidade, o Espírito Santo me adverte, dizendo que me aguardam cadeias e tribulações. 24Mas de modo nenhum considero a minha vida preciosa para mim mesmo, contanto que eu leve a bom termo a minha carreira e realize o serviço que recebi do Senhor Jesus, ou seja, testemunhar o evangelho da graça de Deus. 25Agora, porém, tenho a certeza de que vós não vereis mais o meu rosto, todos vós entre os quais passei anunciando o reino. 26Portanto, hoje dou testemunho diante de todos vós: eu não sou responsável se algum de vós se perder, 27pois não deixei de vos anunciar todo o projeto de Deus a vosso respeito”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 20,17-27 – In those days, 17 Mileto, Paul sent a message to Ephesus, summoning the elders of the church. 18 When The elders arrived, Paul said unto them, "Ye well know how I have behaved in relation to you all the time, from the first day I came to Asia. 19I Served The Lord with all humility, with tears, and in the midst of the trials which I suffered because of the pitted of the Jews. 20I Never ceased to announce what could be of benefit to you or to teach you publicly and also from home to home. 21I Insisted on Jews and Greeks to convert to God and believe in Jesus, our Lord. 22And now, prisoner of the spirit, I go to Jerusalem without knowing what will happen to me. 23I Know only that, from city to City, the Holy Spirit warns me, saying that I await chains and tribulations. 24But in no way do I consider my life precious to myself, as long as I bring to a good end my career and perform the service I received from the Lord Jesus, that is, to witness the Gospel of God's grace. 25Now, however, I am sure that you will no longer see my face, all of whom I have spent announcing the kingdom. 26Therefore, today I testify before all of you: I am not responsible if any of you are lost, 27 for I have not ceased to announce to you the whole project of God in your respect." – Word of the Lord.

Rogarei ao meu Pai, e ele há de enviar-vos um outro paráclito, / que há de permanecer eternamente convosco (Jo 14,16). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 17,1-11 – Naquele tempo, 1Jesus ergueu os olhos ao céu e disse: “Pai, chegou a hora. Glorifica o teu Filho, para que o teu Filho te glorifique a ti 2e, porque lhe deste poder sobre todo homem, ele dê a vida eterna a todos aqueles que lhe confiaste. 3Ora, a vida eterna é esta: que eles te conheçam a ti, o único Deus verdadeiro, e àquele que tu enviaste, Jesus Cristo. 4Eu te glorifiquei na terra e levei a termo a obra que me deste para fazer. 5E agora, Pai, glorifica-me junto de ti, com a glória que eu tinha junto de ti antes que o mundo existisse. 6Manifestei o teu nome aos homens que tu me deste do meio do mundo. Eram teus, e tu os confiaste a mim, e eles guardaram a tua palavra. 7Agora eles sabem que tudo quanto me deste vem de ti, 8pois dei-lhes as palavras que tu me deste, e eles as acolheram e reconheceram verdadeiramente que eu saí de ti e acreditaram que tu me enviaste. 9Eu te rogo por eles. Não te rogo pelo mundo, mas por aqueles que me deste, porque são teus. 10Tudo o que é meu é teu, e tudo o que é teu é meu. E eu sou glorificado neles. 11Já não estou no mundo, mas eles permanecem no mundo, enquanto eu vou para junto de ti”. – Palavra da salvação.
