Buscai em primeiro lugar o reino de Deus e a sua justiça.

Seek in the first place the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Somos responsáveis pela transformação da natureza, da sociedade e da própria história. Jesus não ignora a necessidade de trabalhar para adquirir os bens indispensáveis à sobrevivência, ele estabelece uma hierarquia de valores de acordo com o Evangelho, ele nos ensina uma confiança na providência divina. Ele nos convida a buscar o autêntico reinado de Deus: “Busquem primeiro o Reino de Deus e sua justiça”. Se houver a prática da justiça, a ninguém faltará o que comer, o que beber e o que vestir: “Todas todas estas coisas vos serão dadas por acréscimo”.

We are responsible for transforming nature, society and history itself. Jesus does not ignore the need to work to acquire the goods indispensable for survival, he establishes a hierarchy of values according to the gospel, he teaches us a trust in Divine Providence. He invites us to seek the true reign of God: "seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness." If there is the practice of justice, no one will miss what to eat, what to drink and what to wear: "All these things will be given to you by addition".

Leitura da segunda carta de são Paulo aos Coríntios 12,1-10 – Irmãos, 1será que é preciso gloriar-me? Na verdade, não convém. No entanto, passarei a falar das visões e revelações do Senhor. 2Conheço um homem, unido a Cristo, que há quatorze anos foi arrebatado até o terceiro céu. Se ele foi arrebatado com o corpo ou sem o corpo, eu não o sei, só Deus sabe. 3Sei que esse homem – se com o corpo ou sem o corpo, não sei, Deus o sabe – 4foi arrebatado ao paraíso e lá ouviu palavras inefáveis que nenhum homem consegue pronunciar. 5Quanto a esse homem eu me gloriarei, mas, quanto a mim mesmo, eu não me gloriarei, a não ser das minhas fraquezas. 6No entanto, se eu quisesse gloriar-me, não seria insensato, pois só diria a verdade. Mas evito gloriar-me, para que ninguém faça de mim uma ideia superior àquilo que vê em mim ou que ouve de mim. 7E para que a extraordinária grandeza das revelações não me ensoberbecesse, foi espetado na minha carne um espinho, que é como um anjo de satanás a esbofetear-me, a fim de que eu não me exalte demais. 8A esse propósito, roguei três vezes ao Senhor que o afastasse de mim. 9Mas ele disse-me: “Basta-te a minha graça. Pois é na fraqueza que a força se manifesta”. Por isso, de bom grado, eu me gloriarei das minhas fraquezas, para que a força de Cristo habite em mim. 10Eis por que eu me comprazo nas fraquezas, nas injúrias, nas necessidades, nas perseguições e nas angústias sofridas por amor a Cristo. Pois, quando eu me sinto fraco, é então que sou forte. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the second letter of St Paul to the Corinthians 12,1-10 - Brethren, 1do you have to glorify me? Actually, it's not a good idea. However, I shall speak of the visions and revelations of the Lord. 2I Know a man, united to Christ, who fourteen years ago was snatchled to the third heaven. If he was snated up with the body or without the body, I don't know, God knows. 3I Know that this man – if with the body or without the body, I do not know, God knows – 4 was snated to paradise and there he heard inefable words that no man can pronounce. 5 As for this man, I will glorii, but as for myself, I will not boast, except my weaknesses. 6However, if I wanted to glorify myself, it would not be foolish, for I would only tell the truth. Jesus Cristo, Senhor nosso, / embora sendo rico, para nós se tornou pobre, / a fim de enriquecer-nos / mediante sua pobreza (2Cor 8,9). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 6,24-34 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: 24“Ninguém pode servir a dois senhores, pois ou odiará um e amará o outro, ou será fiel a um e desprezará o outro. Vós não podeis servir a Deus e ao dinheiro. 25Por isso eu vos digo, não vos preocupeis com a vossa vida, com o que havereis de comer ou beber; nem com o vosso corpo, com o que havereis de vestir. Afinal, a vida não vale mais do que o alimento, e o corpo, mais do que a roupa? 26Olhai os pássaros dos céus: eles não semeiam, não colhem nem ajuntam em armazéns. No entanto, vosso Pai que está nos céus os alimenta. Vós não valeis mais do que os pássaros? 27Quem de vós pode prolongar a duração da própria vida só pelo fato de se preocupar com isso? 28E por que ficais preocupados com a roupa? Olhai como crescem os lírios do campo: eles não trabalham nem fiam. 29Porém eu vos digo, nem o rei Salomão, em toda a sua glória, jamais se vestiu como um deles. 30Ora, se Deus veste assim a erva do campo, que hoje existe e amanhã é queimada no forno, não fará ele muito mais por vós, gente de pouca fé? 31Portanto, não vos preocupeis, dizendo: ‘O que vamos comer? O que vamos beber? Como vamos nos vestir?’ 32Os pagãos é que procuram essas coisas. Vosso Pai, que está nos céus, sabe que precisais de tudo isso. 33Pelo contrário, buscai em primeiro lugar o reino de Deus e a sua justiça, e todas estas coisas vos serão dadas por acréscimo. 34Portanto, não vos preocupeis com o dia de amanhã, pois o dia de amanhã terá suas preocupações! Para cada dia, bastam seus próprios problemas”. – Palavra da salvação.

Provai e vede quão suave é o Senhor! 
– O anjo do Senhor vem acampar / ao redor dos que o temem e os salva. / Provai e vede quão suave é o Senhor! / Feliz o homem que tem nele o seu refúgio! 
– Respeitai o Senhor Deus, seus santos todos, / porque nada faltará aos que o temem. / Os ricos empobrecem, passam fome, / mas aos que buscam o Senhor não falta nada. 
– Meus filhos, vinde agora e escutai-me: / vou ensinar-vos o temor do Senhor Deus. / Qual o homem que não ama sua vida, / procurando ser feliz todos os dias?

Progo and see how gentle the Lord is!
