Blessed are you.

As bem-aventuranças e as “mal-aventuranças” são realidades que vão se verificar já ao longo desta vida. Ao lado das bem-aventuranças, Lucas apresenta as “mal-aventuranças”. Não se trata de condições sociais ou destinos humanos diferentes. O Reino de Deus é um divisor de águas. De um lado, encontram-se os que aceitam Jesus e a prática do amor. Do outro, os que rejeitam Jesus e sua proposta de vida e liberdade. Cada um arca com as consequências da própria escolha.

The Beatitudes and the "Mal-aventuranças" are realities that will be verified throughout this life. Alongside the Beatitudes, Lucas presents the "Mal-aventuranças". It is not about social conditions or different human destinies. The Kingdom of God is a watershed. On the one hand, there are those who accept Jesus and the practice of love. On the other, those who reject Jesus and his proposal of life and freedom. Each one ark with the consequences of his own choice.

Leitura da carta de são Paulo aos Colossenses 3,1-11 – Irmãos, 1se ressuscitastes com Cristo, esforçai-vos por alcançar as coisas do alto, onde está Cristo, sentado à direita de Deus; 2aspirai às coisas celestes e não às coisas terrestres. 3Pois vós morrestes, e a vossa vida está escondida, com Cristo, em Deus. 4Quando Cristo, vossa vida, aparecer em seu triunfo, então vós aparecereis também com ele, revestidos de glória. 5Portanto, fazei morrer o que em vós pertence à terra: imoralidade, impureza, paixão, maus desejos e a cobiça, que é idolatria. 6Tais coisas provocam a ira de Deus contra os que lhe resistem. 7Antigamente vós estáveis enredados por essas coisas e vos deixastes dominar por elas. 8Agora, porém, abandonai tudo isto: ira, irritação, maldade, blasfêmia, palavras indecentes, que saem dos vossos lábios. 9Não mintais uns aos outros. Já vos despojastes do homem velho e da sua maneira de agir 10e vos revestistes do homem novo, que se renova segundo a imagem do seu criador, em ordem ao conhecimento. 11Aí não se faz distinção entre grego e judeu, circunciso e incircunciso, inculto, selvagem, escravo e livre, mas Cristo é tudo em todos. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading from St Paul's letter to the Colossians 3.1-11-Brethren, 1 if you have risen with Christ, strive to reach the things of the High, where is Christ, seated at the right hand of God; 2aspire to heavenly things and not earthly things. 3 For You are dead, and your life is hidden, with Christ, in God. 4When Christ, your life, appears in your triumph, then you will appear also with him, clothed in glory. 5Wherefore, make die What in you belongs to the Earth: immorality, impurity, passion, bad desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Such things provoke the wrath of God against those who resist him. 7Formerly you have been enretted by these things and let yourselves be dominated by them. 8Now, however, abandon all this: wrath, irritation, wickedness, blasphemy, indecent words, which come out of your lips. 9Don't Mintal each other. O Senhor é muito bom para com todos. 
– Todos os dias haverei de bendizer-vos, / hei de louvar o vosso nome para sempre. / Grande é o Senhor e muito digno de louvores, / e ninguém pode medir sua grandeza.
