Muitos vieram para ouvir Jesus e serem curados de suas doenças.

Many have come to listen to Jesus and be healed of their illnesses.

Hoje temos várias informações importantes sobre o ministério de Jesus. A primeira é que ele sobe à montanha e passa a noite inteira em oração a Deus. Jesus se prepara para a escolha que está prestes a fazer: selecionar e nomear, dentre seus discípulos, os doze apóstolos, aos quais vai dedicar uma formação especial. Era a maneira de garantir a missão da Igreja. Ao descer da montanha, juntamente com os discípulos, Jesus se depara com outros discípulos e com imensa multidão, sedentos de ouvir sua palavra e serem curados de suas doenças. A escolha dos apóstolos não fez Jesus esquecer as multidões. Uma nota própria de Lucas é a energia boa que de Jesus procede e que é capaz de curar a todos. Claro que “toda a multidão” queria tocar nele!

Today we have several important information about the Ministry of Jesus. The first is that he climbs to the mountain and spends the whole night in prayer to God. Jesus prepares himself for the choice he is about to make: Select and appoint, among his disciples, the Twelve Apostles, to whom he will dedicate a special formation. It was the way to secure the mission of the church. As he descends from the mountain, together with his disciples, Jesus comes across other disciples and with immense crowds, thirsty to hear his word and be cured of his illnesses. The choice of the Apostles did not make Jesus forget the crowds. Luke's own note is the good energy that Jesus proceeds and is able to heal everyone. Of course "The whole crowd" wanted to touch him!

Leitura da carta de são Paulo aos Colossenses 2,6-15 – Irmãos, 6assim como aceitastes a Cristo Jesus como Senhor, assim continuai a guiar-vos por ele: 7enraizados nele e edificados sobre ele, apoiados na fé que vos foi ensinada, dando-lhe muitas ações de graças. 8Estai alerta, para que ninguém vos enrede com sua filosofia e com doutrina falsa, baseando-se em tradição humana e remontando às forças elementares do mundo sem se fundamentar em Cristo. 9Pois nele habita corporalmente toda a plenitude da divindade. 10Dele também vós estais repletos, pois ele é a cabeça de todas as forças e de todos os poderes. 11Nele vós também recebestes uma circuncisão, não feita por mão humana, mas uma circuncisão que é de Cristo, pela qual renunciais ao corpo perecível. 12Com Cristo fostes sepultados no batismo; com ele também fostes ressuscitados por meio da fé no poder de Deus, que ressuscitou a Cristo dentre os mortos. 13Ora, vós estáveis mortos por causa dos vossos pecados, e vossos corpos não tinham recebido a circuncisão até que Deus vos trouxe para a vida, junto com Cristo, e a todos nós perdoou os pecados. 14Existia contra nós uma conta a ser paga, mas ele a cancelou, apesar das obrigações legais, e a eliminou, pregando-a na cruz. 15Ele despojou as autoridades e os poderes sobre-humanos e os expôs publicamente em espetáculo, levando-os em cortejo triunfal. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading from St Paul's letter to the Colossians 2,6-15 - Brethren, 6 just as you accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, so continue to guide you through him: 7rooted in him and built upon him, supported by the faith that has been taught to you, giving you many Thanksgiving. 8Estai warns, that no one will bring you into your philosophy and with false doctrine, relying on human tradition and reassembling to the elementary forces of the world without being grounded in Christ. 9For He inhabits all the fullness of divinity in his corporally. 10 of Him too are ye full, for he is the head of all forces and all powers. 11 in Him You also received a circumcision, not made by a human hand, but a circumcision which is of Christ, for which you renown the perishable body. 12With Christ were ye buried in baptism; With him you were also resurrected through faith in the power of God, who resurrected Christ from the dead. 13Ora, you were dead because of your sins, and your bodies had not received circumcision until God brought you into life, together with Christ, and to all of us forgave sins. 14There was against us an account to be paid, but he canceled it, despite the legal obligations, and eliminated it, preaching it on the cross. 15He stripped the authorities and the superhuman powers and publicly exposed them in spectacle, taking them into triumphal procession. – Word of the Lord.

I have chosen you to be, in the midst of the world, a fruit that lasts (Jn 15,16). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 6,12-19 – 12In those days, Jesus went to the mountain to pray. And he spent all night praying to God. 13At Dawn, he called his disciples and chose twelve among them, to whom he gave the name of Apostles: 14Simon, to whom he imposed the name of Peter, and his brother Andrew; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; 15Matthew and Thomas; James, son of Alpheus, and Simon, called Zealot; 16Judas, son of James, and Judas Iscariot, the one who became a traitor. 17Jesus descended from the mountain with them and stopped in a flat place.
