“Estende a tua mão”. O homem assim o fez e sua mão ficou curada.
"Extend your hand." The man did so, and his hand was healed.

Enquanto Jesus ensina, doutores da Lei e fariseus o observam “para terem motivo de acusá-lo”. O benefício redunda em favor de um homem com a mão paralisada. Antes de curá-lo, Jesus deixa mudos os adversários, dirigindo-lhes a pergunta: No sábado, deve-se ou não se deve fazer o bem, salvar uma vida ou destruí-la? Com certeza, o povo simples, a quem o Pai revela seus segredos (cf. Lc 10,21) sabia responder: tudo o que é bom glorifica a Deus. Mas os doutores da Lei e fariseus “se encheram de raiva”. Buscam, na verdade, motivos para eliminar Jesus. Ao curar esse enfermo, Jesus reafirma sua posição tomada anteriormente: a salvação de uma vida está acima das disposições negativas da lei do sábado.

While Jesus teaches, doctors of the law and Pharisees observe him "to have reason to accuse him." The benefit is in favor of a man with a paralyzed hand. Before curing him, Jesus leaves his opponents mute, directing them the question: On Saturday, should or should not do good, save a life or destroy it? Of course, the simple people, whom the father reveals his secrets (cf. LK 10.21) knew how to answer: All that is good glorifies God. But the doctors of the law and Pharisees were filled with rage. They seek, in fact, motives to eliminate Jesus. In healing this sick man, Jesus reaffirms his previously taken position: The salvation of a life is above the negative provisions of the Sabbath law.
