Ele enviou-me para proclamar a libertação.

He sent me to proclaim the liberation.

Jesus apresenta-se na sinagoga de Nazaré onde fora criado. Diante da assembleia, lê um trecho de Isaías referente ao Messias, e fechando o livro, arremata: “Hoje se cumpriu essa passagem da Escritura que vocês acabam de ouvir”. Pelo poder do Espírito Santo, Jesus vem libertar o povo e criar condições para que tenha vida abundante. Os nazarenos furiosos, expulsam-no da cidade e tentam jogá-lo no precipício. Jesus, porém, “passando pelo meio deles, seguia seu caminho”. Sua missão estava apenas começando.

Jesus presents himself in the synagogue of Nazareth where he was created. In front of the house, he reads a passage of Isaiah referring to the Messiah, and closes the book, he says: "Today we have fulfilled that scripture that you have just heard." By the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus comes to liberate the people and create conditions for the abundant life. The angry Nazarene, they expel him from the city and try to throw him on the precipice. Jesus, however, "passing through them, followed his path." Your mission was just beginning.

Leitura da primeira carta de são Paulo aos Tessalonicenses 4,13-18 – 13Irmãos, não queremos deixar-vos na incerteza a respeito dos mortos, para que não fiqueis tristes como os outros, que não têm esperança. 14Se Jesus morreu e ressuscitou – e esta é nossa fé –, de modo semelhante Deus trará de volta, com Cristo, os que através dele entraram no sono da morte. 15Isto vos declaramos, segundo a palavra do Senhor: nós que formos deixados com vida para a vinda do Senhor não levaremos vantagem em relação aos que morreram. 16Pois o Senhor mesmo, quando for dada a ordem, à voz do arcanjo e ao som da trombeta, descerá do céu, e os que morreram em Cristo ressuscitarão primeiro. 17Em seguida, nós que formos deixados com vida seremos arrebatados com eles nas nuvens, para o encontro com o Senhor nos ares. E assim estaremos sempre com o Senhor. 18Exortai-vos, pois, uns aos outros com estas palavras. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading from St Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians 4,13-18 – 13 Brethren, we do not want to leave you in uncertainty about the dead, so that you will not be sad as others, who have no hope. 14If Jesus died and rose — and this is our faith — God Will bring back, with Christ, those who have entered into the sleep of death. 15This We declare unto you, according to the word of the Lord: We who are left alive for the coming of the Lord shall not take advantage of those who have died. 16For The Lord himself, when given the order, the voice of the Archangel, and the sound of the trumpet, shall descend from heaven, and those who died in Christ shall rise first. 17Then We who are left with life will be snatched with them in the clouds, for the encounter with the Lord in the sky. And so we will always be with the Lord. 18Exurge yourselves unto each other with these words. – Word of the Lord.

O Senhor vem julgar nossa terra. 
– Cantai ao Senhor Deus um canto novo, † manifestai a sua glória entre as nações / e, entre os povos do universo, seus prodígios!

The Lord comes to judge our land.

– For God is great and very worthy of praise,/is more terrible and greater than the other gods; /Because nothing is the gods of the heathens. /It was the Lord and our God who made the heavens. 
– Heaven Rejoice and exult the Earth,/clap the sea with what lives in its waters; /The fields with their fruits rejoice/and exult the forests and the woods. 
– In the presence of the Lord, for he comes,/because he comes to judge the whole Earth. /Rule the whole world with justice/and people will judge with loyalty.

Evangelho

Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia. O Espírito do Senhor repousa sobre mim; / e enviou-me a anunciar aos pobres o evangelho (Lc 4,18). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 4,16-30 – Naquele tempo, 16veio Jesus à cidade de Nazaré, onde se tinha criado. Conforme seu costume, entrou na sinagoga no sábado e levantou-se para fazer a leitura. 17Deram-lhe o livro do profeta Isaías. Abrindo o livro, Jesus achou a passagem em que está escrito: 18“O Espírito do Senhor está sobre mim, porque ele me consagrou com a unção para anunciar a boa-nova aos pobres; enviou-me para proclamar a libertação aos cativos e aos cegos a recuperação da vista; para libertar os oprimidos 19e para proclamar um ano da graça do Senhor”. 20Depois fechou o livro, entregou-o ao ajudante e sentou-se. Todos os que estavam na sinagoga tinham os olhos fixos nele. 21Então começou a dizer-lhes: “Hoje se cumpriu esta passagem da Escritura que acabastes de ouvir”. 22Todos davam testemunho a seu respeito, admirados com as palavras cheias de encanto que saíam da sua boca. E diziam: “Não é este o filho de José?” 23Jesus, porém, disse: “Sem dúvida, vós me repetireis o provérbio: Médico, cura-te a ti mesmo. Faze também aqui, em tua terra, tudo o que ouvimos dizer que fizeste em Cafarnaum”. 24E acrescentou: “Em verdade eu vos digo que nenhum profeta é bem recebido em sua pátria. 25De fato, eu vos digo, no tempo do profeta Elias, quando não choveu durante três anos e seis meses e houve grande fome em toda a região, havia muitas viúvas em Israel. 26No entanto, a nenhuma delas foi enviado Elias, senão a uma viúva que vivia em Sarepta, na Sidônia. 27E no tempo do profeta Eliseu havia muitos leprosos em Israel. Contudo, nenhum deles foi curado, mas sim Naamã, o sírio”. 28Quando ouviram essas palavras de Jesus, todos na sinagoga ficaram furiosos. 29Levantaram-se e o expulsaram da cidade. Levaram-no até o alto do monte sobre o qual a cidade estava construída, com a intenção de lançá-lo no precipício. 30Jesus, porém, passando pelo meio deles, continuou o seu caminho. – Palavra da salvação.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. The spirit of the Lord rests upon me; and sent me to proclaim to the poor the Gospel (Lk 4,18). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 4,16-30 – At that time, 16 Jesus came to the city of Nazareth, where he had created himself. According to his custom, he entered the synagogue on Saturday and rose to do the reading. 17They Gave him the book of the prophet Isaiah. " 24E added: "Verily I tell you that no prophet is well received in his homeland. 25In fact, I tell you, in the time of the prophet Elijah, when it did not rain for three years and six months and there was great hunger throughout the region, there were many widows in Israel. 26 However, neither was Elijah sent, but to a widow who lived in Sarepta, in Sidonia. 27And in the time of the prophet Elisha there were many lepers in Israel. However, none of them were cured, but naaman the Syrian. " 28When They heard these words of Jesus, all in the synagogue were furious. 29Rose and kicked him out of town. They took him to the top of the hill upon which the city was built, intending to cast it on the precipice. 30Jesus, however, passing through them, continued his way. – Word of salvation.
