Tu serás pescador de homens.

You'il be a fisherman of men.

As multidões comprimiam-se ao redor de Jesus a fim de ouvirem a Palavra de Deus. O ensinamento se dá a partir da barca, símbolo da Igreja. Sem Jesus, a missão é estéril. É ele quem garante a eficácia da ação, por mais difícil que seja a situação. Diante do sucesso, Pedro sente o poder de Deus e se reconhece pecador. Sem comentar a atitude humilde de Pedro, Jesus o projeta para obras grandiosas: “A partir de agora, você vai ser pescador de gente”. Os outros sócios de Simão também são chamados a compor o grupo dos apóstolos. Em várias ocasiões, os três – Simão, Tiago e João – serão convidados a testemunhar situações significativas na vida do Mestre (transfiguração, paixão). Certamente para consolidá-los na fé em Jesus, o Filho de Deus.

The crowds were compresse around Jesus in order to hear the word of God. The teaching takes shape from the barge, symbol of the church. Without Jesus, the mission is barren. It is he who assures the effectiveness of the action, as difficult as the situation is. In the face of success, Peter feels the Power of God and recognizes himself as a sinner. Without commenting on Peter's humble attitude, Jesus designs him for grand works: "From now on, you will be a fisherman of people." The other partners of Simon are also called to compose the group of the Apostles. On several occasions, the three – Simon, James and John – will be invited to witness significant situations in the life of the Master (Transfiguration, Passion). Certainly to consolidate them in faith in Jesus, the Son of God.

Leitura da carta de são Paulo aos Colossenses  1,9-14 – Irmãos, 9desde que recebemos essas notícias, não deixamos de rezar insistentemente por vós, para que chegueis a conhecer plenamente a vontade de Deus, com toda a sabedoria e com o discernimento da luz do Espírito. 10Pois deveis levar uma vida digna do Senhor, para lhe serdes agradáveis em tudo. Deveis produzir frutos em toda boa obra e crescer no conhecimento de Deus, 11animados de muita força, pelo poder de sua glória, de muita paciência e constância. 12Com alegria dai graças ao Pai, que vos tornou capazes de participar da luz, que é a herança dos santos. 13Ele nos libertou do poder das trevas e nos recebeu no reino de seu Filho amado, 14por quem temos a redenção, o perdão dos pecados. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading from St Paul's letter to the Colossians 1, 9-14-brethren, 9 since we received this news, we do not cease to pray insistently for you, that you should be fully acquainted with the will of God, with all wisdom and discernment of the light of the spirit. 10 for you must lead a life worthy of the Lord, to be pleasant in everything. You must bear fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God, 11 animated with great strength, by the power of his glory, of much patience and constancy. 12With Joy give thanks to the father, who has made you able to participate in the light, which is the inheritance of the Saints. 13He freed us from the Power of darkness and received us in the kingdom of his beloved son, 14 for whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. – Word of the Lord.

Vinde após mim, disse o Senhor, / e eu ensinarei a pescar gente (Mt 4,19). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 5,1-11 – Naquele tempo, 1Jesus estava na margem do lago de Genesaré, e a multidão apertava-se ao seu redor para ouvir a palavra de Deus. 2Jesus viu duas barcas paradas na margem do lago. Os pescadores haviam desembarcado e lavavam as redes. 3Subindo numa das barcas, que era de Simão, pediu que se afastasse um pouco da margem. Depois, sentou-se e, da barca, ensinava as multidões. 4Quando acabou de falar, disse a Simão: “Avança para águas mais profundas, e lançai vossas redes para a pesca”. 5Simão respondeu: “Mestre, nós trabalhamos a noite inteira e nada pescamos. Mas, em atenção à tua palavra, vou lançar as redes”. 6Assim fizeram, e apanharam tamanha quantidade de peixes, que as redes se rompiam. 7Então fizeram sinal aos companheiros da outra barca, para que viessem ajudá-los. Eles vieram, e encheram as duas barcas, a ponto de quase afundarem. 8Ao ver aquilo, Simão Pedro atirou-se aos pés de Jesus, dizendo: “Senhor, afasta-te de mim, porque sou um pecador!” 9É que o espanto se apoderara de Simão e de todos os seus companheiros, por causa da pesca que acabavam de fazer. 10Tiago e João, filhos de Zebedeu, que eram sócios de Simão, também ficaram espantados. Jesus, porém, disse a Simão: “Não tenhas medo! De hoje em diante, tu serás pescador de homens”. 11Então levaram as barcas para a margem, deixaram tudo e seguiram a Jesus. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel
