Evangelho - Lucas 1,39-56

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – Naqueles dias, ³⁹Maria partiu para a região montanhosa, dirigindo-se, apressadamente, a uma cidade da Judeia. ⁴⁰Entrou na casa de Zacarias e cumprimentou Isabel. ⁴¹Quando Isabel ouviu a saudação de Maria, a criança pulou no seu ventre e Isabel ficou cheia do Espírito Santo. ⁴²Com um grande grito, exclamou: “Bendita és tu entre as mulheres e bendito é o fruto do teu ventre! ⁴³Como posso merecer que a mãe do meu Senhor me venha visitar? ⁴⁴Logo que a tua saudação chegou aos meus ouvidos, a criança pulou de alegria no meu ventre. ⁴⁵Bem-aventurada aquela que acreditou, porque será cumprido o que o Senhor lhe prometeu”. ⁴⁶Então Maria disse: “A minha alma engrandece o Senhor, ⁴⁷e o meu espírito se alegra em Deus, meu salvador, ⁴⁸porque olhou para a humildade de sua serva. Doravante todas as gerações me chamarão bem-aventurada, ⁴⁹porque o Todo-Poderoso fez grandes coisas em meu favor. O seu nome é santo, ⁵⁰e sua misericórdia se estende, de geração em geração, a todos os que o respeitam. ⁵¹Ele mostrou a força de seu braço: dispersou os soberbos de coração. ⁵²Derrubou do trono os poderosos e elevou os humildes. ⁵³Encheu de bens os famintos e despediu os ricos de mãos vazias. ⁵⁴Socorreu Israel, seu servo, lembrando-se de sua misericórdia, ⁵⁵conforme prometera aos nossos pais, em favor de Abraão e de sua descendência, para sempre”. ⁵⁶Maria ficou três meses com Isabel; depois voltou para casa. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Luke 1,39-56

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Luke - In those days, Mary went to the hill country and hurried to a city in Judea. 40 He entered the house of Zechariah and greeted her. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leaped in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. With a loud cry she exclaimed, "Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb! How can I deserve the mother of my Lord to visit me? As soon as your greeting reached my ears, the child jumped for joy in my belly. Blessed is the one who believed, for what the Lord has promised will be fulfilled. " 46Then Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, 47and my spirit rejoices in God my savior, because he looks at the humility of his handmaid. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things in my behalf. His name is holy, and his mercy extends from generation to generation to all who respect him. 51 He showed the strength of his arm: he has scattered the proud in heart. 52 He hath brought down the mighty from the throne, and lifted up the humble. 53 He filled the hungry with wealth and sent away the rich with empty hands. 54 Israel, his servant, remembered his mercy, as he had promised to our fathers, for Abraham and his descendants forever. Maria spent three months with Isabel; then returned home. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

“Maria tem pressa a se dirigir à região montanhosa de Judá para auxiliar Isabel que está grávida e necessita da sua ajuda. Temos duas mulheres pobres, mas solidárias, que carregam dentro de si duas crianças. É a solidariedade entre duas mães que reconhecem a ação de Deus em seus corpos. Além das mulheres, temos também o encontro de duas crianças ainda no ventre de suas mães: encontro do Precursor com o Salvador. Pelo cumprimento, percebemos a alegria que transborda das mulheres, a ponto de contagiar o fruto do ventre de cada uma. Impulsionada pelo Espírito Santo, Isabel se alegra por receber a mãe do Senhor, declarando-a abençoada e feliz. Representante dos pobres que têm esperança, Maria responde com belo hino que exalta os pobres e rebaixa os orgulhos. Ela leva consigo paz, alegria e bênção de Deus. Felizes as famílias que têm mães que se solidarizam entre si, através da ajuda mútua. Felizes as comunidades que têm mulheres portadoras de vida e esperança, mulheres benditas que acolhem a Palavra, transmitem fé e otimismo e acreditam num mundo melhor."

Hoje invoco os céus e a terra como testemunhas contra vocês, de que coloquei diante de vocês a vida e a morte, a bênção e a maldição. Agora escolham a vida, para que vocês e os seus filhos vivam,

Reflecting the Gospel

"Mary is in a hurry to go to the mountainous region of Judah to help Isabel who is pregnant and needs your help. We have two poor but caring women who carry two children inside. It is the solidarity between two mothers who recognize the action of God in their bodies. Besides the women, we also have the encounter of two children still in the womb of their mothers: encounter of the Precursor with the Savior. By the fulfillment, we perceive the joy that overflows of the women, to the point of contagiar the fruit of the belly of each one. Driven by the Holy Spirit, Elizabeth rejoices to receive the Lord's mother, declaring her blessed and happy. Representative of the poor who have hope, Mary responds with a beautiful hymn that exalts the poor and lowers the proud. It brings with it God's peace, joy, and blessing. Happy are the families who have mothers who are in solidarity with each other through mutual help. Blessed are the communities that have women with life and hope, blessed women who welcome the Word, transmit faith and optimism and believe in a better world."
