Matrimônio: os dois serão uma só carne.
 Marriage: the two will be one flesh.

Evangelho - Mateus 19,3-12

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Naquele tempo, ³alguns fariseus aproximaram-se de Jesus e perguntaram, para o tentar: “É permitido ao homem despedir sua esposa por qualquer motivo?” ⁴Jesus respondeu: “Nunca lestes que o criador, desde o início, os fez homem e mulher? ⁵E disse: ‘Por isso, o homem deixará pai e mãe e se unirá à sua mulher, e os dois serão uma só carne’. ⁶De modo que eles já não são dois, mas uma só carne. Portanto, o que Deus uniu, o homem não separe”. ⁷Os fariseus perguntaram: “Então, como é que Moisés mandou dar certidão de divórcio e despedir a mulher?” ⁸Jesus respondeu: “Moisés permitiu despedir a mulher por causa da dureza do vosso coração. Mas não foi assim desde o início. ⁹Por isso, eu vos digo: quem despedir a sua mulher – a não ser em caso de união ilegítima – e se casar com outra, comete adultério”. ¹⁰Os discípulos disseram a Jesus: “Se a situação do homem com a mulher é assim, não vale a pena casar-se”. ¹¹Jesus respondeu: “Nem todos são capazes de entender isso, a não ser aqueles a quem é concedido. ¹²Com efeito, existem homens incapazes para o casamento, porque nasceram assim; outros, porque os homens assim os fizeram; outros, ainda, se fizeram incapazes disso por causa do reino dos céus. Quem puder entender, entenda”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Matthew 19,2-12

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew - At that time, 3 some Pharisees came to Jesus and asked, "Is it permissible for a man to send his wife away for any reason?" 4Jesus replied, "You have not read that the creator the beginning, made them male and female? 5 And he said, 'Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh.' 6 So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate. " 7The Pharisees asked, "How then did Moses send a certificate of divorce and dismiss the woman?" 8Jesus replied, "Moses allowed the woman to be dismissed because of the hardness of your heart. But it was not so from the beginning. 9 Therefore, I say to you, that whoever dismisses his wife-except in case of unlawful union-and marries another, commits adultery. " 10The disciples said to Jesus, "If a man's situation is like this, it is not worth marrying." 11Jesus answered, "Not everyone is able to understand this except those to whom it is given. 12 For there are men who are incapable of marriage, because they were born like this; others, because men did so; still others have become incapable of it because of the kingdom of the heavens. Those who can understand, understand. " - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Jesus retoma o plano do Criador: homem e mulher se unirão e formarão “uma só carne”. Essa união supõe respeito mútuo, igualdade, patilha espiritual e material. Jesus não só restitui ao casamento a sua integridade original (v. 5), mas o eleva à condição de sacramento (cf. Ef 5,22-33). O matrimônio estabelece comunhão tão profunda e íntima entre esposo e esposa, que exclui a possibilidade de separação. Separados seriam como um corpo incompleto. A sexualidade, no matrimônio, realiza-se no compromisso entre marido e mulher, abertos para a geração de filhos. Fora do matrimônio, a sexualidade encontra sentido no compromisso com Cristo e com o evangelho. Na vida matrimonial, mais do que reunir motivos de separação, o casal dará destaque aos aspectos positivos que os mantêm unidos e realizados.

Reflecting the Gospel

Jesus takes up the plan of the Creator: man and woman will unite and form "one flesh." This union presupposes mutual respect, equality, spiritual and material cues. Jesus not only restored his original integrity to marriage (v. 5), but elevated him to the status of sacrament (cf. Eph 5: 22-33). Marriage establishes such deep and intimate communion between husband and wife, which excludes the possibility of separation. Separated would be like an incomplete body. Sexuality, in marriage, takes place in the commitment between husband and wife, open to the generation of children. Outside of marriage, sexuality finds meaning in commitment to Christ and to the gospel. In matrimonial life, rather than bringing together reasons for separation, the couple will highlight the positive aspects that keep them together and accomplished.
