🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 07/08/18 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 08/07/18

Coragem! Sou eu. Não tenhais medo!
Courage! It's me. Do not be afraid!

Evangelho -
Mateus 14,22-36

A noite chegou, e Jesus continuava ali, sozinho.

Gospel - Matthew 14,22-36
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Matthew - After the crowd had eaten up their fill, Jesus commanded the disciples to go into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side of the sea, while he would send the multitudes away. 23 After Jesus had dismissed them, he went up to the mountain to pray alone. The night came, and Jesus was still alone. But the boat, far from the land, was agitated by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25At three o'clock in the morning Jesus came to the disciples, walking on the sea. 26And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said, "He is a ghost." And they cried out in fear. 27Jesus said to them, "Courage! It's me. Do not be afraid! "28Then Peter said to him," Lord, if it be you, let me go to meet you, walking on water. " 29And Jesus answered, "Come!" Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he felt the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31Jesus stretched out his hand, held Peter and said to him, "Man weak in faith, why did you doubt?" who got into the boat, the wind calmed down. 33And they that were in the boat fell down before him, saying, Verily, thou art the Son of God! 34 And they crossed over to Gennesaret. 35The inhabitants of that place recognized Jesus and spread the news throughout the region. Then all the sick took him; And they asked that they could at least touch the hem of his robe. And all that touched it were healed. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
Jesus departs from Jerusalem, the city that "kills the prophets" (Lk 13:34). John the Baptist had been beheaded. As a precaution, the Master seeks a deserted place, which is quickly populated, for "the multitudes have known." When he saw the crowd, Jesus "was filled with compassion." Effective compassion, generating concrete and immediate action. In fact, Jesus soon "healed the sick." And at dusk came the famine. With a buy-and-sell mentality, the disciples suggest Jesus orders them to buy food. Only the money would fill the stomach. Jesus causes the disciples to find another solution (verse 16). Then it happens sharing the food they own. The little of each, put together, satisfies the hunger of all, and there is still plenty left. The first Christian communities lived this experience.

Rezando
Salmo 101/102.

Rezando
The nations will respect your name, and the kings of all the earth, your glory; / When the Lord rebuilds Jerusalem / and appears with glorious majesty, / he will hear the prayer of the oppressed / and will not despise his prayer. For future generations write this, / and a new people to be created praise God. / He bent from his temple on high, / and the Lord looked down upon the earth from heaven, / for the groans of captives to hear / and death to deliver the damned. So also the generation of your servants shall have a home, and shall live in safety, and his seed shall be established before him. / That they sing his name in Zion / and praise the Lord Jerusalem / when the peoples and nations gather / and all the empires serve him. Psalm 101/102.
