1a. Leitura - Isaías 9,1-6
Leitura do livro do profeta Isaías – 1 O povo que andava na escuridão viu uma grande luz; para os que habitavam nas sombras da morte, uma luz resplandeceu. 2 Fizeste crescer a alegria e aumentaste a felicidade; todos se regozijam em tua presença como alegres ceifeiros na colheita ou como exaltados guerreiros ao dividirem os despojos. 3 Pois o jugo que oprimia o povo – a carga sobre os ombros, o orgulho dos fiscais –, tu os abateste como na jornada de Madiã. 4 Botas de tropa de assalto, trajes manchados de sangue, tudo será queimado e devorado pelas chamas. 5 Porque nasceu para nós um menino, foi-nos dado um filho; ele traz aos ombros a marca da realeza; o nome que lhe foi dado é: Conselheiro admirável, Deus forte, Pai dos tempos futuros, Príncipe da paz. 6 Grande será o seu reino, e a paz não há de ter fim sobre o trono de Davi e sobre o seu reinado, que ele irá consolidar e confirmar em justiça e santidade a partir de agora e para todo o sempre. O amor zeloso do Senhor dos exércitos há de realizar essas coisas. – Palavra do Senhor.

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – Naquele tempo, 26 o anjo Gabriel foi enviado por Deus a uma cidade da Galileia, chamada Nazaré, 27 a uma virgem, prometida em casamento a um homem chamado José. Ele era descendente de Davi e o nome da virgem era Maria. 28 O anjo entrou onde ela estava e disse: “Alegra-te, cheia de graça, o Senhor está contigo!” 29 Maria ficou perturbada com essas palavras e começou a pensar qual seria o significado da saudação. 30 O anjo, então, disse-lhe: “Não tenhas medo, Maria, porque encontraste graça diante de Deus. 31 Eis que conceberás e darás à luz um filho, a quem porás o nome de Jesus. 32 Ele será grande, será chamado Filho do Altíssimo, e o Senhor Deus lhe dará o trono de seu pai Davi. 33 Ele reinará para sempre sobre os descendentes de Jacó, e o seu reino não terá fim”. 34 Maria perguntou ao anjo: “Como acontecerá isso se eu não conheço homem algum?” 35 O anjo respondeu: “O Espírito virá sobre ti e o poder do Altíssimo te cobrirá com sua sombra. Por isso, o menino que vai nascer será chamado santo, Filho de Deus. 36 Também Isabel, tua parenta, concebeu um filho na velhice. Este já é o sexto mês daquela que era considerada estéril, 37 porque para Deus nada é impossível”. 38 Maria, então, disse: “Eis aqui a serva do Senhor; faça-se em mim segundo a tua palavra!” E o anjo retirou-se. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Luke 1,26-38

Refletindo o Evangelho

Introduzida por Pio XII, na conclusão do Ano Mariano de 1954, esta festa é celebrada oito dias após a Assunção de Maria ao céu. Maria é rainha porque é mãe de Cristo, o Rei. É rainha porque supera todas as criaturas em santidade: “ela encerra toda a bondade das criaturas”, escreve Dante na Divina Comédia. Desde o começo da Igreja, os fiéis não cessam de homenagear Maria como Rainha. Os inúmeros mosaicos e pinturas representando Maria Rainha o comprovam. Vem da Idade Média a Salve Rainha, em que Maria é considerada a Senhora a quem amar e servir dignamente, e a Mãe de quem obter proteção segura. A exaltação da “Serva do Senhor”, ao lado do “Rei dos reis e Senhor dos senhores” é mistério da graça divina e de perfeita correspondência a ela, vivido por Maria na disponibilidade ao serviço de Deus e da humanidade.
