 Verdadeiramente, tu és o Filho de Deus!

Truly, you are the son of God!

1a. Leitura -  1 Reis 19,9.11-13 
Leitura do primeiro livro dos Reis – Naqueles dias, ao chegar a Horeb, o monte de Deus, 9 o profeta Elias entrou numa gruta, onde passou a noite. E eis que a palavra do Senhor lhe foi dirigida nestes termos: 11 “Sai e permanece sobre o monte diante do Senhor, porque o Senhor vai passar”. Antes do Senhor, porém, veio um vento impetuoso e forte, que desfazia as montanhas e quebrava os rochedos. Mas o Senhor não estava no vento. Depois do vento houve um terremoto. Mas o Senhor não estava no terremoto. 12 Passado o terremoto, veio um fogo. Mas o Senhor não estava no fogo. E, depois do fogo, ouviu-se o murmúrio de uma leve brisa. 13 Ouvindo isso, Elias cobriu o rosto com o manto, saiu e pôs-se à entrada da gruta. – Palavra do Senhor.

 
1st Reading - 1 Kings 19,9.11-13

Reading the first book of Kings – in those days, to get to Horeb, the Mount of God, 9 the Prophet Elijah went into a cave, where he spent the night. And behold, the word of the Lord was addressed in these terms: 11 "comes out and stays on the mount before the Lord, for the Lord will pass". Before the Lord, however, came a mighty wind and strong, which was undoing the mountains and broke the rocks. But the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake. But the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 Past the earthquake came a fire. But the Lord was not in the fire. And, after the fire, heard the murmur of a light breeze. 13 hearing this, Elias covered his face with his cloak, got out and stood at the entrance of the cave. -The word of the Lord.

Evangelho -  Mateus 14,22-33
Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Depois da multiplicação dos pães, 22 Jesus mandou que os discípulos entrassem na barca e seguissem, à sua frente, para o outro lado do mar, enquanto ele despediria as multidões. 23 Depois de despedi-las, Jesus subiu ao monte, para orar a sós. A noite chegou, e Jesus continuava ali sozinho. 24 A barca, porém, já longe da terra, era agitada pelas ondas, pois o vento era contrário. 25 Pelas três horas da manhã, Jesus veio até os discípulos, andando sobre o mar. 26 Quando os discípulos o avistaram andando sobre o mar, ficaram apavorados e disseram: “É um fantasma”. E gritaram de medo. 27 Jesus, porém, logo lhes disse: “Coragem! Sou eu. Não tenhais medo!” 28 Então Pedro lhe disse: “Senhor, se és tu, manda-me ir ao teu encontro, caminhando sobre a água”. 29 E Jesus respondeu: “Vem!” Pedro desceu da barca e começou a andar sobre a água, em direção a Jesus. 30 Mas, quando sentiu o vento, ficou com medo e, começando a afundar, gritou: “Senhor, salva-me!” 31 Jesus logo estendeu a mão, segurou Pedro e lhe disse: “Homem fraco na fé, por que duvidaste?” 32 Assim que subiram no barco, o vento se acalmou. 33 Os que estavam no barco prostraram-se diante dele, dizendo: “Verdadeiramente, tu és o Filho de Deus!” – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Matthew 14,22-33

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew – after the multiplication of the loaves, 22 Jesus sent the disciples to enter on the ferry and go, your front, across the sea, while he'd fire the crowds. 23 after firing them, Jesus went up into the mount, to pray alone. The night came, and Jesus remained there alone. 24 the barge, however, away from Earth, was shaken by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 By 3:00 in the morning, Jesus came to the disciples, walking on the sea. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said: "it's a ghost". And screamed with fear. 27 but Jesus immediately said to them: "Courage! It's me. Do not be afraid! " 28 then Peter said to him: "Lord, if this is you, send me go to your meeting, walking on the water". 29 and Jesus answered: "come!" Pedro went down the boat and started walking on water towards Jesus. 30 but when he felt the wind, was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand, grabbed Peter and told him: "weak man in faith, why did you doubt?" 32 so they went up on the boat, the wind calmed down. 33 those who were on the boat fell down before him, saying, "truly you are the son of God!"-the word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Ao caminhar sobre o mar, Jesus manifesta a presença e o domínio de Deus sobre as forças contrárias. Diante dos discípulos assustados, Jesus se apresenta com palavras familiares: “Coragem! Sou eu. Não tenham medo!” Dizendo “Sou eu”, Jesus revela a presença salvadora de Deus. Pedro toma a iniciativa e pede permissão para caminhar até Jesus. Permissão concedida. Insuficiente, porém, para que Pedro tenha sucesso. Em vez de se concentrar no poder de Jesus, o líder dos discípulos se distrai com o “vento forte”. E começa a afundar. No aperto, grita por socorro. “Jesus estendeu a mão e o segurou”. Quando Pedro e Jesus entram na barca, figura da Igreja, o vento cessa. Serenar tempestades é também obra de Deus, reconhecida pelos discípulos: “Tu és verdadeiramente Filho de Deus!”.

Reflecting the Gospel

When walking on the sea, Jesus manifests the presence and the domain of God about the opposing forces. Before the frightened disciples, Jesus is presented with familiar words: "Courage! It's me. Do not be afraid! " Saying "it's me", Jesus reveals the presence of God Savior. Peter takes the initiative and requesting permission to walk to Jesus. Permission granted. Praying

I want to hear what the Lord will say:/is the peace that he will announce. /Is the salvation of those who fear him,/and the glory will dwell in our land. The truth and love will be,/a justice and peace embrace; /the Earth will fidelity/and justice will look of the high heavens. The Lord will give us all that is good,/and our land will give us their crops; /Justice will walk in your front/and salvation is your footsteps. Psalm 84/85.
