The Passover of the Jews was near - Jn 11, 45-56

Naquele tempo, 45 muitos dos judeus que tinham ido à casa de Maria e viram o que Jesus fizera, creram nele. 46 Alguns, porém, foram ter com os fariseus e contaram o que Jesus tinha feito. 47 Então os sumos sacerdotes e os fariseus reuniram o Conselho e disseram: “Que faremos? Este homem realiza muitos sinais. 48 Se deixamos que ele continue assim, todos vão acreditar nele, e virão os romanos e destruirão o nosso Lugar Santo e a nossa nação”. 49 Um deles, chamado Caifás, sumo sacerdote em função naquele ano, disse: “Vós não entendeis nada. 50 Não percebeis que é melhor um só morrer pelo povo do que perecer a nação inteira?” 51 Caifás não falou isso por si mesmo. Sendo sumo sacerdote em função naquele ano, profetizou que Jesus iria morrer pela nação. 52 E não só pela nação, mas também para reunir os filhos de Deus dispersos. 53 A partir desse dia, as autoridades judaicas tomaram a decisão de matar Jesus. 54 Por isso, Jesus não andava mais em público no meio dos judeus. Retirou-se para uma região perto do deserto, para a cidade chamada Efraim. Ali permaneceu com os seus discípulos. 55 A Páscoa dos judeus estava próxima. Muita gente do campo tinha subido a Jerusalém para se purificar antes da Páscoa. 56 Procuravam Jesus e, ao reunirem-se no Templo, comentavam entre si: “Que vos parece? Será que ele não vem para a festa?”

Biblical Text 
At that time, many of the 45 Jews who had gone to the House of Mary and see what Jesus did, believed on him. Some 46, however, they went to the Pharisees and told what Jesus had done. 47 Then the high priests and the Pharisees gathered the Council and said: "What do we do? This man carries out many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and destroy our holy place and our nation. " 49 1 of them, named Caiaphas, high priest in function that year, said: "You don't understand anything. 50 Don't realize it's better one die for the people than that the whole nation perish? " 51 Caiaphas didn't say that for yourself. Being high priest in function that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation. 52 and not only for the nation, but also to gather the children of God. 53 from that day, Jewish authorities have taken the decision to kill Jesus. 54 Jesus therefore walked no more in public among the Jews. Withdrew to a region near the desert, to a town called Ephraim. There he stayed with his disciples. 55 the Jewish Passover was near. Many in the field had risen to Jerusalem to cleanse himself before Easter. 56 Sought Jesus and to gather at the temple, said: "What do you think? I wonder if he's not coming to the party? "

Refletindo

O Senhor é uma provocação para a vida de cada um de nós, e precisa ser assim a cada dia! Quando fazemos alguma coisa errada na vida, quando vivemos uma situação errada, procuramos, de todas as formas, correr, eliminar ou não ouvir aquilo que vai nos dizer a verdade. Por exemplo: a pessoa pega a Bíblia e percebe que aquela passagem é para ela e diz: “Opa, é para mim!”, e vira a página! Não é bem isso! Não podemos deixar de sermos incomodados pela verdade, porque, se assim fizermos, acostumaremo-nos a viver na mentira, viver o que não é correto; então, transformaremos (como os sumos sacerdotes e os fariseus estão fazendo) a mentira em verdade, o errado em certo. Não se trata de acusar ninguém, pelo contrário, trata-se de assumirmos o que a Palavra de Deus está nos iluminando e sermos conduzidos por ela. É normal vermos por aí que, muitas vezes, as pessoas não querem mais entrar na igreja, arrumam um monte de desculpas, mas entenda que, muitas das vezes, é porque as verdades que são ditas pela Palavra de Deus, pela moral de Deus, incomodam demais. Vivemos numa sociedade perigosíssima, em que ninguém quer ser incomodado. É a sociedade do conforto e do individualismo, onde o que vale é aquilo que o indivíduo pensa, acha. Criam meias verdades ou verdades individuais, as quais se contrapõem à verdade de Deus. Não podemos rechaçar ou ignorar a verdade, porque só ela salva a nossa vida!

The Lord is a provocation for the life of each of us, and have to be like this every day! When we do something wrong in life, when we live a wrong situation, we seek, in any case, run, delete or not listening to what's going to tell us the truth. We cannot help but be annoyed by the fact, because if we do, acostumaremo us to live the lie, live which is not correct; then, turn (as the high priests and the Pharisees are doing) lies in truth, the wrong right. It's not about accusing anybody, on the contrary, it is to assume what the word of God is in lighting and be led by her. It is normal to see around that, many times, people don't want to walk down the aisle, get a bunch of excuses, but understand that, often, it's because the truths that are said by the word of God, by God's moral, bother you too much. We live in a dangerous society, where no one wants to be bothered. Is the comfort and society of individualism, where what counts is what the individual thinks, thinks. Create half-truths or individual truths, which oppose God's truth. We cannot reject or ignore the truth, because only she saved our lives!
