1a. Leitura - Atos 22,3-16

Leitura dos Atos dos Apóstolos – Naqueles dias, Paulo disse ao povo: ³“Eu sou judeu, nascido em Tarso da Cilícia, mas fui criado aqui nesta cidade. Como discípulo de Gamaliel, fui instruído em todo o rigor da lei de nossos antepassados, tornando-me zeloso da causa de Deus, como acontece hoje convosco. ⁴Persegui até a morte os que seguiam esse caminho, prendendo homens e mulheres e jogando-os na prisão. ⁵Disso são minhas testemunhas o sumo sacerdote e todo o conselho dos anciãos. Eles deram-me cartas de recomendação para os irmãos de Damasco. Fui para lá a fim de prender todos os que encontrasse e trazê-los para Jerusalém, a fim de serem castigados. ⁶Ora, aconteceu que, na viagem, estando já perto de Damasco, pelo meio-dia, de repente uma grande luz que vinha do céu brilhou ao redor de mim. ⁷Caí por terra e ouvi uma voz que me dizia: ‘Saulo, Saulo, por que me persegues?’ ⁸Eu perguntei: ‘Quem és tu, Senhor?’ Ele me respondeu: ‘Eu sou Jesus, o Nazareno, a quem tu estás perseguindo’. ⁹Meus companheiros viram a luz, mas não ouviram a voz que me falava. ¹⁰Então perguntei: ‘Que devo fazer, Senhor?’ O Senhor me respondeu: ‘Levanta-te e vai para Damasco. Ali te explicarão tudo o que deves fazer’. ¹¹Como eu não podia enxergar, por causa do brilho daquela luz, cheguei a Damasco guiado pelas mãos dos meus companheiros. ¹²Um certo Ananias, homem piedoso e fiel à lei, com boa reputação junto de todos os judeus que aí moravam, ¹³veio encontrar-me e disse: ‘Saulo, meu irmão, recupera a vista!’ No mesmo instante, recuperei a vista e pude vê-lo. ¹⁴Ele, então, me disse: ‘O Deus de nossos antepassados escolheu-te para conheceres a sua vontade, veres o Justo e ouvires a sua própria voz. ¹⁵Porque tu serás a sua testemunha, diante de todos os homens, daquilo que viste e ouviste. ¹⁶E agora, o que estás esperando? Levanta-te, recebe o batismo e purifica-te dos teus pecados, invocando o nome dele!’” – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles - In those days Paul told the people: 3 "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but I was raised here in this city. As a disciple of Gamaliel, I was instructed in all the rigor of the law of our ancestors, making me zealous of the cause of God, as it is with you this day. 4 I kept to death those who followed this way, arresting men and women and throwing them into prison. 5 These are my witnesses the high priest and all the counsel of the elders. They gave me letters of recommendation to the brothers of Damascus. I went there to arrest all that I found and to bring them to Jerusalem, to be punished. 6And it came to pass on the journey, when I was near Damascus by noon, that suddenly a great light which came from heaven shone round about me. 7Then I went to the earth and heard a voice saying to me, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" 8I asked, "Who are you, Lord?" He answered me, "I am Jesus the Nazarene whom you are persecuting. '. 9 My companions saw the light, but they did not hear the voice that spoke to me. 10And I said, What shall I do, Lord? The Lord said to me, Arise, and go to Damascus. There they will explain everything to you what to do. ' 11As I could not see, because of the brightness of that light, I came to Damascus, guided by the hands of my companions. 12A certain Ananias, a godly man, and faithful to the law, having a good reputation with all the Jews who lived there, 13 came to me and said, "Saul, my brother, recover your sight!" At once I recovered my sight and could see him. 14And he said to me, "The God of our ancestors chose you to know his will, to see the righteous and to hear his own voice. 15For thou shalt be his witness before all men of that which thou hast seen and heard. 16And now, what are you waiting for? Evangelho - Marcos 16,15-18

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos – Naquele tempo, Jesus se manifestou aos onze discípulos ¹⁵e disse-lhes: “Ide pelo mundo inteiro e anunciai o evangelho a toda criatura! ¹⁶Quem crer e for batizado será salvo. Quem não crer será condenado. ¹⁷Os sinais que acompanharão aqueles que crerem serão estes: expulsarão demônios em meu nome, falarão novas línguas; ¹⁸se pegarem em serpentes ou beberem algum veneno mortal, não lhes fará mal algum; quando impuserem as mãos sobre os doentes, eles ficarão curados”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Mark 16,15-18

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ According to Mark - At that time Jesus spoke to the eleven disciples and said to them: "Go into the whole world and preach the gospel to every creature! 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. Whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 The signs that will accompany those who believe will be these: they will cast out demons in my name, they will speak new tongues; If they take snakes or drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; when they lay their hands on the sick, they shall be healed. " - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Antes de sua ascensão ao céu, Jesus envia seus discípulos com uma ordem bem precisa: proclamar o evangelho. Os destinatários são todos os povos do mundo todo. Jesus confere aos discípulos o poder de curar doentes e expulsar demônios, isto é, libertar as pessoas de tudo o que as oprime e devolver-lhes a dignidade de filhos e filhas de Deus. Muitos sinais prodigiosos haveriam de acompanhar e confirmar a obra dos seguidores de Jesus. A Igreja primitiva (ler Atos dos Apóstolos) testemunhou a verdade dessa promessa: “O Senhor confirmava o que eles diziam sobre a graça de Deus, permitindo que através deles se realizassem sinais e prodígios” (At 14,3). Faz parte dessa corrente de pregadores o apóstolo Paulo, através do qual Deus realizava milagres extraordinários (cf. At 19,11).

Reflecting the Gospel

Before his ascension into heaven, Jesus sends his disciples with a very precise order: to proclaim the gospel. The recipients are all the peoples of the world. Jesus gives his disciples the power to heal the sick and cast out devils, that is, to free people from everything that oppresses them and to give them back the dignity of the sons and daughters of God. Many prodigious signs would follow and confirm the work of Jesus' followers. The early Church (see Acts of the Apostles) witnessed the truth of this promise: "The Lord confirmed what they said concerning the grace of God, enabling signs and wonders to be accomplished through them" (Acts 14: 3). Part of this stream of preachers is the apostle Paul, through whom God performed extraordinary miracles (Acts 19:11).
